But surely if you're replacing, you'll get a good look behind them, clean, make sure your linings are clean, waxoyl, etc etc. So if used replcements are good you should be able to keep them that way.

Anyone know if E39 suffers from this?

Yay. So it'd be a bit OCD to take me wings off and have a good look/clean/waxoyl behind? Maybe if you take the linings off you can have an attempt at a clean/waxoyl up there with the wing still in situ?

On the E39, rear arches, boot key hole and sills. Thats were you want to start inspecting.
