well my phone hasn't been working for a week now and seeing as today is my day off I booked an engineer callout. I also have a guy coming to survey my water thingy to see if I can have a meter. great, 2 jobs done in 1 day. thing is, BT are due here between 8-1 and water guy at 1:30. so what to do with my day? don't want to start too much coz BT guy could turn up at any time, and cant go out. why such big time slots? has messed my day right up.

Jobs around the house tbh, always something you can be doing to be productive with your time.

I'll bet a dollar a dozen that there is at least one job around the house you've been putting off ;)

yeh, I have loads of jobs to do, but all will be inconvenienced by an interruption from the BT guy. I got lots of tidying to do, but all are in rooms with BT sockets, which no doubt he will want to test first to try and get the £99 callout charge from me.

Start cleaning. Stop cleaning when BT guy arrives. Finish any active cleaning jobs when he leaves. What's the complication?

Fap, when the bt guy arrives and you've got wood he'll call the hookers and the party will get started! The water guy will know more local women and you'll get down all afternoon...

to tidy will involve moving furniture, moving furniture will involve blocking the BT sockets, blocking the BT sockets will result in BT guy getting very teasy with me :p

E: but yeh, will go crazy just sitting waiting. why such a long time slot though, they start at 8, so surely they would know if I was first on the list, if not, then I think you can safely assume each job will take a minimum of 30mins, times that by the number of people infront of me, and that will give a shorter ETA slot.
time to do the little tidying jobs and leave the bigger ones for another day.

Yeah, jobs around house, tidy up generally, be amazed how great it feels to have everything neat and tidy. Maybe that's just me, makes my mind feel so much clearer, begs the question why my place is so messy.

BT will only book AM or PM slots, due to them not knowing how long each job will take.

theyre all human though, if you just need to move the sofa out of the way i doubt very much theyll get the hump. id put money on them only needing the master socket anyway as they wont test internal wiring.

really? oh, I was assured that IF it was my internal wiring (which im 99% sure its not as other people in the area have similar problems) then they would get it working and the £99 fee would be applied :( I just want my phone.

the thing that annoyed me the most, was their complete lack of common sense. I reported the fault via their website on Thurs, great, so far so good. heard nothing by Mon so opened their online chat to find out what was going on, and was greeted with this :
Me - I reported a fault on my line on Thursday but haven't heard anything about what's happening
BT - Hang on I will look
Long pause
BT - our system shows someone tried to ring you on Friday but no one answered
Me - What number were you trying to ring me on as I have had my mobile with me all weekend
BT - ***** ******
Me - umm.......that's my landline, the one I reported the fault on?
BT - Yes, I understand, we could not get through or leave a message
Me -Yes, because it has a fault...
BT - I see. we can book an engineer to call out for you now if you would like
........

really, am I the only one that can see what was wrong with that?
