I am looking at booking flights from London to DC in Oct and both Virgin and BA are coming up at the same price points (BA better times)

Which airline would you go for and why?

never flown with either long distance so can't comment.

Voted BA as I've flown to London with them and they do a good job. Old world style long may it continue.

Virgin, I have written on here several times about how **** BA are.
I used to fly a lot, literally 3-6 flights a month and every time I have flown with BA it has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I'll only fly with them if my company forces me to.

I've only ever had good experiences with them. Admittedly, not flown with them in the last few years though but I thought they were pretty decent. Things may have changed for the worse I'm guessing? :(

Maybe it's just bad luck on my part. I've flown with them maybe 6 or 7 time over the past couple of years and it's been terrible. Bad service, rude staff and possibly the worst wine (out of a carton) that I've ever tasted!

BA if you want a generally bad and depressingly untimely experience. Virgin if you want unfriendly service and uncomfortable seats.

I'd rather fly Delta/KLM or Continental/United.

If you're flying in Economy they're all pretty much the same. It's only an 8 hour flight at most so don't bother with minute differences in seat pitch or IFE.

Go with cheapest flights at the most suitable times. The airline of choice is largely irrelevant.
