New Samsung Series 9 Monitors

120Mhz? That's 1000 times too many ;). But in seriousness this model is a completely different kettle of fish. I'd recommend reading the comments (particularly the last few) on the PC Monitors news item which likens this to a more feature-rich Apple Cinema Display.

Bad habit, I'm always getting my Hz & MHz wrong.:o

actually a million ;p

Haha yes indeed! I do know the difference between kilo and mega. That will teach me to get bored with trying to calibrate this S24B750V and post on the forums without the old brain being engaged. :(

I like. Very much. In the market for a 27inch monitor. Hopefully with more and more companies making them there will some decent choice and competition.

EDIT: Apart from the lack of VESA mounting...

A glaring omission me think, but I agree with your comments, hopefully we will see other manufacturers making something similar.

We might just see 27"monitors being regarded as the minimum size to have before too long.

It is very rare for modern Samsung's 'sleek' monitors to support VESA mounting. A bit of style over substance indeed but they put a lot of thought and effort into the stand and design and that's what you pay for. Well that's what they'll tell you ;).

I thought Quad HD was 4x HD res... and as I only count 1080p as HD that only means 2160p ...

1440p should be .. I don't know ... "Quad HD-Ready" as 720p gets the moniker "HD-Ready"

Yes I'm mad as a bag of badgers (really, try putting badgers in a bad, that's mad!), but I think there's too many things called HD... 720p should just be quite high res, not HD.

Is likely to be any good for FPS games? Not competitive or anything like that but just not going to put u at a major disadvantage online?

2560×1440 pixels is Wide Quad HD. Quad Full HD is 3840×2160 pixels.
BitTech are just calling it Quad HD to make it sound more amazing than it actually is.

It's just been made available in the US and certainly looks a nice screen! Should have a review of this at some point quite soon at TFT central and I'm sure PCM2 will have the same at some point too for pcmonitors.org :)

High 2560 x 1440 res, PLS panel (latest generation of), 10-bit colour support, glossy screen coating, factory calibration, hardware LUT calibration support....very interesting!

I can see Samsung & others taking a close look at ViewSonic's 31.5" 3840 x 2160 monitor.:)

The next six months will see some great monitors being announced, using a 2560 x 1440 res,10-bit colour support, PLS panel (latest generation of) or a larger PLS panel.

I still prefer the LG 1mm bezel one. I wish that they would hurry the hell up and release it though, with some specs too. :(

The DM92, it it sees daylight, only has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and no doubt has LGs usual heavy matte anti-glare surface. Oh and the bezel is a lot thicker than 1mm. It has a 1mm outer bezel then a thick inner bezel which appears as a black border around the screen. It is a very different screen and also a very misleading one.

very nice looking screens. As majnu said, less bezzle would be flippin nice. but they are very impressive looking.

Also not sure why but i choked on my tea reading this:

I agree about the annoyance of 'HD'. What manju actually said was he liked the look of the LG monitors 'with 1mm bezels' , probably not knowing that the bezels are actually thicker as they have an inner component and the screen is quite different. Also you can't give an LCD display an edge to edge glass cover without some decent bezels.
