Anyone here got the 1000GB one off? I was originally considering the 180GB but just saw that for double the price you get 5 and a half times as much download, with no time limit to use it up.
I'm assuming this is the best usenet payment plan out there? Or does anyone else offer 1TB for less, or more than 1TB for around the same?

25 GB $10 Once-Off 25 Gigabytes Unlimited 50
180 GB $25 Once-Off 180 Gigabytes Unlimited 50
1000 GB $50 Once-Off 1000 Gigabytes Unlimited 50

i was i the $11 monthly special then i spotted the 1tb deal so switched to that , it works out much cheaper for me

Yeah, seems a good deal, works out £32, plus my experience of astraweb is very good. So I guess I'll go for that unless anyone shouts me a better plan that's available.

This is the one I'm on. I figured that paying like £10 a month is silly for me as 1TB of data will last me so much longer...

As a whole I've had a good experience with astrawebs.

Astraweb is great, been with them for about 3 years now. It's fast but sometimes (very rarely) it has missing articles but it only affects a couple of groups though.

I'm paying $96 per year for unlimited, works out at approx £5 per month so it's well worth it.

Hmm, so you're only really paying just under double that 1TB plan for unlimited downloads for a year, pretty good deal. Now you have me wondering if that might work out even better for me than a one off payment of $50 for 1TB.

Have you found yourself easily exceeding 1TB of downloads within a year? I'm not really sure if I'd make 1TB last a year or much much less. I'm not really a massive downloader, but with my new 60mbps connection and files being so big these days, it could get used up reasonably fast. I suppose I should go for the 1TB, see how that goes, and if it doesn't last very long, then pay $96 for a year.

It took me about 18 months to download 1TB. Really depends on your personal usage though. Some months I can easily eat up 200GB, other months I barely hit 30GB.

It may or may not be more economic for you, and as you say, you can always try the block account first.

Here's the link anyway: http://www.news.astraweb.com/specials/voucher.cgi?t=h43vom3sb75ppj5

If you do sign up for the $96/year account, make sure you save any transaction IDs as you will need to email their support to activate the account. For block accounts it's automatic activation IIRC.

Quite tempted by this as been having issues with torrents recently.
Was talking to a friend about it and hes given me a free trial of UseNext.
I'm really liking the tangysoft client, seems very GF friendly, find item hit DL job done.

The packages they offer however and the hyrbid thing they use seems odd to me.
This is the first time in absolutely ages I've used this type of thing and was wondering if astraweb have a similar client?

Or does anyone have a nice all in one client suggestion.
Due to the amount I DL attimes I'm very tempted by the astraweb offer

I've just switched my $11/unlimited service over to the $50/1000GB plan.

The unlimited plan was good value for money but as I'm not a particularly heavy user, 1TB should last me a good while.

Nice one Astraweb (and nice one guys for making me aware :))

Just revisiting this thread. I bought the 180GB on 17th July and my members area tells me that to date I've only used 5.38GB, so at the moment it suits me fine. I was curious though asim, how did you ever find that link above in the first place? When I go to the astraweb site, I can't find any link or reference that takes me to that specials/voucher Unlimited DSL - US$ 96 every year page. http://www.astraweb.com/

I don't know how anyone would actually be aware of that particular plan or am I missing an obvious link?
