Well, I should know better, as I've been reading up various GPU's pros and cons, but now that I am letting go of my 6950's, I'm torn between the sensible option, a 7850 (Twin Frozr 4), or the posh option, a GTX670 (most likely Windforce, or KFA2 EX OC), maybe even considering a 7970 given they price cuts.

I'm not really bothered with AMD or NVidia, having had both I'm happy either way. Wondering if a 7850 will be good enough, or should I just go 670... :'(

I'm gaming at 1920 x 1200p, and I can live without anti aliasing quite happily. I'm mostly interested in low noise and temps, and of course decent performance.

Quite liking the 7850 Twin Frzr Power edition tbh... But then, the Windforce... AAAAaaaaAAaah!!!

Im running 2 6950s and wont be upgrading anytime this year. Why do you want to get rid of them? If there performing well enough id stick with em, plenty of life in them.

If noise and heat are an issue. Fit 2 acceleros to the 6950s, i did and the noise is so much lower than stock and great temps to.

670 posh option?! rofl. You meant to say better right? ;D But your probably better sticking to your 6950's and waiting for something later down the line.

Do you run triple screen? That's one situation where going to a single card *might* be anything other than a downgrade (especially since your 6950's are unlocked), and even then you will probably need to go higher than a 670.

If you suffer a lot from microstutter, and 670/680 or 7970 might be an improvement. At least one poster on this board when from 2x6950s to 1x7970 and said while the frame rate was no higher, it felt a lot smoother. Other than that, I cant seen any advantage to doing it.

I'm moving away from dual GPU.

How would they fit on a 6950 TOXIC? They are 6970 rev 2 from what I've read.

All right. You lot have me convinced, and tbh I think I was being a bit silly. I'm selling one since I find 6950 xfire redundant, and keeping the other one. The custom cooler looks like a good idea, maybe for later.

If it's for 1080p, Highly clocked 7970/680 would be a sidegrade performance wise at best.

Cant read that im afraid my friend. But from the pictures i concluded it fit ok. Only silver award though? and gold for the shaman? Id give the xtreme gold all day long. Totally love mine, glad i saw your posts with fitting them to your 6950/70. Made installing it a breeze after my reservations about taking a cooler off.
