It's not even funded, and they already have plans for DLC?

The original design of the rook did not fit with the rest of the characters stylistically. However, we hope to bring back the original rook design in an expansion pack.

I didn't like the fact that they had actually finished the game before the kickstarter then said " oh give us all this money and we will add a bit more "
 
How much of that is down to the publisher though?

It is odd that a publisher would actively try to obtain crowd sourced funding.
 
Go to amazon.co.uk buy battle vs chess its only £9.99 now & an excellent game! Just bought it a few days ago well worth it (previous price was £29.99). not sure what DRM it uses but it needs an online activation then uses GFWL for MP matches vs human players (but plenty of SP content as well). Gfx are excellent for the game type if you like chess its a very good buy for some reason this game is only available in a dual PC/MAC DVD rom no digital versions are sold anywhere & the game cannot even be sold in US due to a legal battle someone brought against the publisher.
