Stone Roses reunion, proper this time?

That really galls me. I know so many people that couldn't get tickets.

Walking boots would have been fine yesterday for the most part, but it was raining again as we left...

Great night last night. Beady Eye we're ok but Stone Roses rocked the place. Round under foot was ok, but if you exit near the stage its a mud bath to get out! Traffic was manic, I'd booked a mini-bus from Leeds, ended up telling the driver to wait up at the M60 junction and we walked to meet him a good few miles, still loads faster than if he'd tried to meet us. Beer tent queues were horrendous also, ended up not bothering. Best tip I'd give is to get down near the stage early on, there's a barrier with security and if you get there early you can get a wristband which allows you in/out of the gated section closer to the stage.

Yep- saw some pics on twitter of people at the gig who clearly weren't even born when the roses were around.

The bird is pressing for wellies. Not really in to wearing them! Might stick a pair of boots on instead. Was it glastonbury muddy or just a few little bits here and there?

Few little bits here and there apart from the exit really. I managed with just walking boots, but jeans are a bit caked looking at them this morning.

Mental gig, got seriously crushed and muddy. Was surprised how good they sounded after seeing Ian a fair few times. I smuggled a bottle of vodka down my pants as the beer tent Q's were ridiculous as always. We walked for 2 hrs back to my flat in Manchester, place was gridlocked.

Beady eye were pap, wish I could have seen Primal Scream instead.

We got there to see pro green take the stage. He did pretty well tbh given that it really wasn't his crowd. The wailers got everyone in the mood.

Didn't think much at all to beady eye. Without the two oasis numbers I wouldn't have moved at all.

We were inside the first 10k people into the venue so we were in the pit at the front. From start to finish they were amazing. They were still themselves too. Ian is as cool as Liam wants to be, mani and reni absolutely bang in form. Squire still showing off (fools gold was 4 or 5 mins too long and it was the only point in the whole set that they lost the crowd a little). Made of stone is awesome live, Ian had a dig at our tyrannical queen, they finished with I am the resurrection and the whole park took off, then the whole band had a group hug. Was a bit emotive after knowing about the fallouts they've had over the years.

Then the fireworks started. Better than any organised display I've ever seen.

Blown away. Liam introduced them as the best band in the world. He was absolutely bang on.

One thing that really surprised me was the atmosphere. It was brilliant. Oasis gigs have a nasty undercurrent, not last night.

My two daughters are waiting to leave and they don't know any songs by them.
I've just asked them to sing one of their songs but they shrugged their shoulders.
I've also had constant digs at them saying they are keeping tickets away from proper fans.

I'm sure something undigested from the early nineties made its way back into my bloodstream. The visuals were magnificent.

I suppose the only positive is that they might get into them?

Official park and ride. It was brilliantly managed. It's a bit of a walk through the park (and looks like a zombie apocalypse on the way out) but we were inside the park if not the venue within 20 mins of getting out of the car including a burger and toilet stop at the park and ride, and we were back at the car within 30 mins of getting to the pick up point. £10 for parking and bus for 3 people is good value, and the car parks are fully manned.

It is a fair walk though from park entrance to venue, so your party needs to be fairly mobile. It's easy ground to walk on though.

I used the official park and ride on Friday, really hassle free.
We managed to walk straight out of the venue and onto a bus surrounded by thousands.

Edit: I mentioned to my brother about it looking like a zombie apocalypse on the way out. :D
