The biggest and most annoying thing I'm experiencing is the ghost touching, its intermittent at times.

Also the Nexus 7 is indeed nice but no HDMI out or SD, in my view 16GB is too small and I'm no fan of Cloud storage where they can access your content via US law and bypass EU or UK laws on access to cloud based data.

Getting told that Android apps are incompatible with my device is the big annoyance for me. Will probably get another proper tablet in a few months time

Did you upgrade your ROM to a newer one, if so check into a few Druid forums as some make up custom ROMs?

I'm using a new one that's a custom build of the latest Ainol ROM and so far its better

Just managed to do it. Was greeted with everything in Chinese on the tablet, but managed to find languages in the settings and now I have English again. I did contact the supplier, and he said

"I believe, looking around, that this is due to the type of ARM processor that the Ainol has inside it. Something in those apps doesnt have the appropriate software support for the processor."

as the reason for some apps as being incompatible. Anyway, I'll know soon enough if the firmware update has helped at all

Nope, no help at all. Best use for the Elf tablet, a paperweight.
