no gtx 660 till august?

Well that gives a large indicator of where the 660 will be performing at least. Direct competitor for Radeon 7850 should see interesting pricing.

250 for the gtx660? unlikely to be that high if they're gonna enter the 7850's market segment. im guessing 180-190ish

See what you mean, maybe £250 too high but I doubt you'll get anything much below £200 as the standard 560 Ti is around the £160-£170 mark and the 448 560 Ti's are still right up there on price with the 570's, eventually Nvidia is going to have to discount some of this stuff to get rid.

news for anyone waiting for the 660gtx

firstly, apologies if someone has beaten me to it, but just found this:

http://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/jules/gtx660-launch-date-confirmed-16th-august/

News into KitGuru from a friendly engineer in sunny California, is that 16th August will see the new cards launched.

Palit and other major nVidia partners have bought up the last of the 570 GPUs and flushed them into the market at bargain prices, leaving the way clear for the GTX660 to rock Q4. Our sources in Taiwan told us that this was a crucial part of the strategy, because a well priced GTX570 would make the GTX660 look bad.

Late to the party tbh. Pretty much everyone wanting a mid range part has bought a 7850 now...

Well it all depends on the price/performance bracket it comes in, could still be a good value card.

I'm not too hopeful though, most sources are suggesting a gk104 chip with the same number of smx units as a gtx 670, but with a 192-bit memory bus and 1.5gb of ram, probably a lower clockspeed too. Also I don't think nvidia are going to be giving these away, they will be 296mm^2 chips competing with amd's 212mm^2 chips.
