Stone Roses reunion, proper this time?

As an extra note, got interviewed on camera, asked to sign release forms and make an on camera declaration of permission for intent for possible use in Shane Meadow's documentary about the Roses and their reunion.

Epic night, I'm still flying.

The Roses were awesome, Ian Brown was on top form and after hearing he was a bit dodgy on the Friday I was a bit worried, no need, they were all absolutely spot on.

Thought Beady Eye were fantastic as well :)

One thing that really surprised me was the atmosphere. It was brilliant. Oasis gigs have a nasty undercurrent, not last night.

Indeed, same with Ian Browns solo gigs, always scallies looking to kick off and 40 year old skin heads too beered up :/

Last night was ace though, there was about 50 people all hugging and singing toward the end when I am the resurrection kicked in.

Got a great picture of hundreds of people behind us all smiling for pictures :D

Obscure one for me and my mate who traveled down for the this one. Friday was traffic chaos on the trains cos of the landslides and flooding. But after starting at 9am (8am for my mate) we got down around half 10 at night. Checked into the hotel, went out for a few lagers, then back in at 2am after i decided to lose my mobile :( met a couple of nice cops though and they phoned up tmob so i could get my sim card blocked :)

Felt rough on saturday so things were starting off slowly for me. Got going by the afternoon though and headed up to Heaton for about 6pm. First guys we recognised were a couple of Dundonians we met on the train earlier. Then chatted to a few mancs. Decent bunch even if they were a bit mental. Wailers were playing as we got there but couldn't bring any sunshine as the heavens opened, not that anyone was caring much.

The general consensus for Beady eye around us were, we dont know any songs, play some Oasis instead.......they duly did so kept everyone happy.

When the Roses came on and the first few notes of I wanna be adored were played out the place went nuts (might upload my video for that later on) For me personally I wasn't too bothered about Brown's ability to hold a tune or not cos generally with music i dont pay too much attention to the lyrics :D Soundwise it was fantastic, visuals were superb as well.

Really good night despite me and my mate walking all the way back into town but all was saved when the Spar shop round the corner from our hotel was open. Food, then crash out to catch the train this morning just after 9am.

I'm sure i saw some boy OD'd getting dragged out before the Roses came on and I also made a profit selling a couple of beers to guys who couldn't be bothered waiting in the queue :D

EDIT

Also ridiculous the amount of Scottish folk there :D

Was a good night, we got there around the time PG was on, we stayed at the front, had both a green band and red band but none of the officials knew where the disabled stand was till one of the group spotted it, would've liked to have stayed at front but to be honest it was pretty good at the back you could take in the crowd and their reactions, plus had a clear view of the fireworks after, enjoyed the wailers and as gilly said if Liam hadn't sung an Oasis song the band would've gone unnoticed.

Getting out was god awful, my chair was caked in mud! We were allowed through the back of the stage and unbeknownst to most of us heading towards the hospitality tent since no one stopped us and if it wasn't for my brother in law who asked the steward where the exit was we'd have got in, we were actually through the gate, Ah well...still had an amazing night, not bad for my first outdoor concert!

Brilliant gig. Just got out of bed now and nursing a large hangover.

Thought Plan B were (was? ) really good with human beatboxing and loads of energy.

As Gilly said, fools gold was a bit pap but the rest of the set was solid. Mr Brown hit a fair few bum notes towards the end though probably past his bedtime!

Thanks for the park and ride recommendation, worked really well.

A gig to tell the grand kids about for sure

Bass line wasn't as prominent either but that's just being picky. Epic gig and glad I am off work for two weeks now! Feel sorry for the lad I got the tickets off from eBay; he lost a fair whack on the pair.

Might have to buy the poster or some sort of memorabilia now...

Long way back!

Yeah, me and my mate arrived around 6pm, wandered about a bit before heading down for Beady Eye. Reckoned we were about 100 yrds back from mixing desk / visual mixing tent thingy. Still a bucketload of folk behind us though.

was anyone at the heaton park gig?

i wasn't but i heard it was awful! beer tent closed for a while and ian brown sounding worse live than usual. people leaving before the gig finished etc?

Loads of people, read the thread.

Which night do you mean? Everything was awesome when I was there. I think someone is trolling you.
