Using these with the USB sound card that came with them and no matter what I try they just are not loud enough, I like my stuff really loud. Is there any software I can download to boost the volume of these?

You hae an STX but you're using a USB soundcard???

Try plugging them into the soudncard.

Yea, I've ran out of power things to actually power the card ( can't think of the name but it fits in the 4 big metal ping chunky things ) so until I can get a new cable I have to use the USB sound card :(

you mean molex?

if you can afford a £260 headset, surely you can afford a £1 cable? :p

what do you reckon to the mmx300?

Definitely fix your STX and power them properly. Although the MMX300 is "only" 32ohm it is actually a pretty insensitive/inefficient headphone. Impedance alone doesn't mean it's easy to drive.

Nope I spent all my monies on the headset! Must admit I thought I'd have a space Molex cable.

I really really rate them very highly even with them not being as loud. They are very very comfortable and the sound quality of things is amazing. I ditched my PC350s for them and I'm glad I did.

Ok mate, I'll try and get it sorted.

I ticked the box for the USB soundcard when I ordered my MMX 300 just because it was only like 10 euros or 20 euros I thought "Why not, it's nothing compared to the whole cost anyway and I might need it at some point!".

The one time I tested it I definitely noted that it wasn't fantastically loud :p

In my Titanium HD it went pretty loud. In my Beyerdynamic A1 amp it went loud enough :D

I'd be unplugging some of that useless stuff like hard drives and graphics cards to get my headphones working if I had to rely on that USB soundcard lol

Ok I managed to get a molex cable and now using the STX card and it's vastly improved. The quality from these headphones is really really clear, I loved my Dre Beats and their dirty base for listening to music but these are so crisp.

@Phal your last sentence made me laugh :D If I knew it would sound this good I would have unplugged one of them sooner!

Yeah, sometimes I wish there was a bit more bass coming out of my headphones but then I notice that I can hear every note in the music so soooo clearly and I forget about the bass.

Agree, with the Dre Beats the bass is crazy and while everything is clear the bass kind of takes over, listening to music through the MMX 300 was rather a joy, like you said being able to hear everything... Just so crisp.

The feeling that you can't hear yourself talk is a bit weird at first because of the closed cup design but its easy enough to get used to. They're definitely comfy whether you have the fluffy earpads or the real leather ones like on mine.
