Dell Inspiron 1545 Won't Start Up

Hey Guys,

My girlfreind has an Dell inspiron 1545 and the charger broke a while back.

I just brought a new one, plugged it in the white light comes on, tried to turn it on and nothing !

So i left it for 2 hours came home the white light is off and it still won't turn on, even with the charger plugged in, or even taken out.

Any ideas ?

Pull the battery out + unplug charger.

Hold power button in for 20-30secs.

Plug only charger back in (no battery) and try again.

If not - Pull Ram + HDD out and see if it advances any further.

(Ram keeping one stick in at a time (Assuming you have two) and swapping slots. If only 1 stick, remove it to see if the machine makes any other sort of beeps @ post)

that means i need to open the laptop up don't it ?

Nope still the same, i took them all out tried it and nothing, then each piece one by one on their own and nothing :/

Now when i put the PSU in it doesn't even put the white light on

Yeah a guy on the tech guys forum said that.

I found a guide on youtube that explains how to change the power jack on the motherboard so i've ordered a new one for £7 and gonna try that !

So hopefully that will fix it.
