Im looking for a new car and quite fancy one of these. Wondering if any of you fine chaps have owned one and if so, what did you make of it?

3rd gen(99-06) shogun lwb, warrior spec..

My dad had the diesel Shogun Warrior. Really basic interior, noisy as hell engine (to the point you really had to raise your voice at 60mph+), not that economical. Comfy though.

Interesting..and this is the same year model?

The noise thing sounds like it could be very annoying :o

I'm not sure of the exact year, but it was definitely in that age bracket. Be sure to get an extended test drive and get on some dual carriageways to find out for yourself.

Good reliable general (proper) 4x4. Not really a motorway cruiser.

There is good reason most Arabs have either a Shogun or a Landcruiser when out in the desert.

Done a wee bit of offroading in an old pajero (shogun). Was great for that and would be tolerable to drive around in on road, but if you're not gonna do any actual off roaring in it you're probably better off with one of the softer alternatives.

You're looking at a newer model than I've driven but I cant see there being a massive difference.
