>Have no problems
>Imply everyone's problems are fake/ott
>Not exactly fair?
Its as fair as the usual reported problems which are either:

1: Trying to work around the DRM by using xliveless then blaming the developer/publisher that the game does not work properly if you use a dodgy dll.

2: Blaming GFWL that the game does not work when you are not using an online GFWL profile as you want to resell the game later on but still expect all content to work even though when you buy the game it says it needs a 1 time only activation & you get onscreen messages about this saying do you want to do this which you can back uot of by using an offline GFWL profile (if the game supports it).

3: Blaming GFWL that your dodgy copy of Windows7 stops it working properly (GFWL can detect an illegal OS & refuse to run unless the OS passed the genuine step).

The Steam forums are full of these same 3 issues all caused by user errors so hardly fair IMO to blame GFWL for everything is it?

TBH GFWL does have minor issues but no more than Steam & the most common one is that Steam knowingly sell GFWL games which are bundled with the original GFWL client instead of changing the install scripts to point to the newist GFWL client they distribute the older one & the older dot.net so unless the buyer makes regular Windows Update visits they have to manually update those components befoe the game will run (unless they are savvy enough to do so in advance).

Commonsense loses here as Steam says they have to bundle the runtimes the game launched with but how hard can it be to just update the sources Steam have to the latest versions & not only that Steam is the only digital store who refuse to sell GFWL games outside the 35 supported countries yet all other digital stores sell GFWL titles worldwide with a clear warning you may need to create a gamertag in a supported country (no IP check so it lets the buyer bypass the regional restriction). Why would you knowingly sell a digital PC game with outdated runtimes anyway!!

I get the impression that GFWL vs Steam is an ongoing grudge match as MS refuse to sell Steamworks enabled games & Valve refuse to sell GFWL games to everyone despite there being no IP check restriction like Steam have in place for account creation/storefront purchases.

Its all academic anyway as so few games use GFWL now Dark Souls, Resident Evil 6, Lost Planet3 & DMC may well be the last ever GFWL titles.

From my past experience it has been terrible for me, and none of it was my fault.

Even now, I bought Batman on Steam which used GFWL, and it took far too much effort to even start the game!

tempted to buy red alert 3 uprising and Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath

I have played the main games of both but not the expansions.

Anyone played all of them and care to comment?

Gamersgate has the Gothic Collection for £3.99

Gothic
Gothic II
Gothic II Night of the Raven
Gothic III
Gothic III Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition

Is Legandary any good? Its only £1.69 on Steam but no matter how cheap a game is I CBA to download and install if its pants

I've heard it's terrible and not even worth the £1 or so :/

Do not buy. I just wasted $1.69 on a sub-par game. Outdated and not in the fun retro way. Simplified gameplay, lackluster production, etc. Just not good.
