I had my kuhler H2O 620 keeping my CPU at 35*C - 40*C idle and 70*C - 75*C under full load right from the start, but in more recent months it started to make really awful noises so i RMA'd it.

Got the new one in the rig today and the idle temperatures are 26*C - 33*C idle and 55*C - 60*C under load! Wow... i guess the first cooler was faulty right from the start!

Running at 4.2GHz in push pull. Got a generic lian li fan pushing air into the rad, and the antec fan pulling it out (on speed 6 out of 9 because it is a noisy bugger)

Also, brake cleaner proved to be good for getting the thermal paste off. (couldent find anything else)

Mind if I ask if you RMA to Antec or the reseller and how long it took? I have just pulled a 620 out of the system I built for a mate at the end of last year because of the ticking noise it makes. I have tried all tbe recommended tips, such as reseating the pump so the pipes are in a different position but nothing stops it. I am certain it isn't bubble noise and is the pump itself.

I did it by emailing the retailer. I received an email the next day apologising and saying that they had sent a new unit out by Royal mail first class. Two days later it arrived, now I have to send the old one back (they provided address labels etc so I don't have to pay)

It was the online store which everyone seems to make an immediate beeline for. Don't know if that helps.

Wow, that was a nice and easy RMA. I'm glad you got it sorted so easily. I am going to test the unit in my PC as it gives me more time to triple check everything. My mate is going to live with the stock cooler for a bit while it gets sorted.

I think that's the way all RMAs should be.

Many companies use customer's out of pocket expense to RMA a product as a deterrent.

It doesn't... well it does but that's more work then it's worth.

Found a way on notebooks:
START> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Character Map. Locate the degree sign (right in the center - not the other thing on the left) and click it. Click the Select button then the Copy button. The symbol can then be pasted where desired.
90°
90* is so much easier. :D
