Canoeing in Herefordshire

Also change the title... You missed out the "e" and I had high hopes you meant "Hert" not "Here". :p

There's a nice bit a canoeing to be done from Symonds Yat into Monmouth. Works out at just over 7 miles with a few pub stops along the way. :)

Always a good time in the summer with a group of 6-8 of us, 2 of us each to a kayak and having a good laugh.

Yes, I have done that route and its a pleasant experience. Good countryside around there.

Me and the wife is a short one from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat a few weeks ago. Would like to do a longer one at some point.

I've done that a few times, it's a nice trip, with time to play on the yat rapids afterwards. There's also a big rock just round the bend before Symonds Yat that's great for seal launching, but that's mainly for us maniac kayakers.. :D

Went on a groupOn deal for a full day of canoeing down the wye yesterday, loved every minute of it!

Shoulders are a lil on the weak side today though!

Oh and the rapids section by symonds yat was well fun, I wanted another go on them :)

Thinking next on my next free weekend to get back down the white water centre in cardiff and have some fun :D

Cardiff WWC is a big step up from Symonds Yat, you have been warned! :p

Me and my friends are looking to do this in the next couple of months should be great fun. We want to spend a weekend rowing and general tomfoolery :)

I was going by these people - http://www.thecanoehire.co.uk/

You don't "row" a canoe, you paddle it. Rowwing is for serious people far too busy zooming around the place backwards to enjoy themselves!

You're not wrong there dude!! :D I'm a bodyboarder first and foremost and the hydro speeding (River bodyboarding) there is fantastic. I've been on the rapids in a raft and a hydro speed there so far. looking forward to getting back down there. I'm still a bit young when it comes to kayaking but I'm getting there... ;)

I've been to Cardiff once with my kayak, and got a lot of rolling practice! It was good fun though.

I had to google hydrospeeding, that looks properly mental! I'll have to give it a try sometime!

I'm not suprised dude, in a kayak I'd probably end up under until it spits you out at the bottom. Luckily, believe it or not I'm safer in the water than on it! :P

If you go there for the hydro speed day, first thing you do is defensive swim the whole course which is pretty awesome by itself :D then its with the bumpers with a good set if fins and your away. You can really smash into the rapids and get a load of speed up.
