There are a number of scenarios which could take place now, in regards to RVP. Personally, I don't mind if he sees his 12 months out with us and then leaves for free, it will only benefit Arsenal in my opinion. He'll have spent his "prime" years with us, he'll be a month or so from 30 with a very sketchy injury record when his contract expires and no doubt he will want to play out of his skin in order to impress any potential suitors, clubs obviously know his quality but I'm sure he will want to show he's over his injury troubles and show that he is still in top form.

We've brought in two strikers already, yes they're unproven in this league but many of our best players have been also. You could say the recent signings from Ligue 1 have been a bit poo, and that's true but that doesn't necessarily mean that every new signing from the French league is going to be gash. As for Podolski it's my understanding that he and the coaches had fallen out at Bayern, he started a lot of games on a bench, played out of position a fair bit and was generally mismanaged, I'm not sure if that's all true, but it's the stuff that I've read about his time at Munich.

If Van Persie wants to leave then I'm sure most Arsenal fans will wish him well and thank him for his contribution to our club but like any other football club we are bigger than one player, we've just spent over £20,000,000 on two forwards to help ease the burden on him and if in his opinion that isn't good enough then so be it.

Van Persie can go, the club was here before him and will be here after him. Arsenal FC is greater than any one player. No other club would have taken care of him for 6 seasons the way he did with him getting injured every season. He had one good season and thinks he now knows how to run the club. Guess his true character is finally coming to the fore.

If Theo stays he may end up in his prefer role as a striker and we can deploy Lu Lu Lu Lukas Podolski on the left. I can see Theo being prolific as a striker and I'm sure Giroud will be very good in a team like ours with the chances we create. Also Lets not forget that Chamakh was actually very good for us when he was playing regularly at the start of his career for us and I'm sure if he gets a run of games can regain that kind of form again.

Van Persie will end up like Hleb and Flamini.

Van Persie will complete his move to #MCFC within two weeks. Fee of around £22m. Contract worth £225k per week already agreed. #AFC

I've heard Giroud described as the French Grant Holt.

Giroud will be the new Chamakh and isn't Wilshire still "injured" and unplayable for another 4 months?

RVP may play out his last year and have another great season which could be worth than the 20 million people are talking of.

I'd sell RvP soon as they can, get the greatest amount of money for him whilst he's 'hot'.
Had a fantastic season, but let's be honest, 1 out of 6-7 seasons is not exactly prolific. If we hold on to him, he'll probably get injured, then walk away for nothing. Sell him now for a decent price and use that towards bolstering the squad.

I can see Chelsea being the only threat to City this season, Man Utd will be 3rd and it depends what Liverpool and Spurs do to challenge Arsenal for 4th place.

Basically yes mentally City now have the upper hand also Man utd have strengthened but I don't think enough, only time will tell, please do not be offended by my predictions as they are usually wrong, I am only good with scorelines and scorers.

At least some good news came out on the Gooner front today, Denilson has extended his load at Sao Paulo for another 12 months! Gods be praised :D

Till I know what percentage of his wages we are paying I wouldn't call it good news. I think he has(thanks to the last ridiculous extension when Wenger(and half the fans) thought he was great) a contract till 2014. Another guy we can't sell on high wages no one will match and we can't even sell for a mil or two because no one wants him and he wouldn't leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if we're paying a decent chunk of his wages :(

I think it's a bit early yet for predictions, the transfer window doesn't close until the end of August so there's a lot more time for teams to strengthen.
