Not with anyone that will make a difference straight away, maybe if Modric chooses United but I think he is Madrid bound.

I am happy to nail my colours and predictions to the wall this early.

They have the most to prove, finishing 6th(forgetting the lucky Champions League), Torres now the focal point, Marin being injured for so long, Hazard supposedly the brightest talent in Europe, So many old heads leaving, it will be make or break as the pressure will be on from the get go.

Why dont we do a Spurs and keep rvp to ransom like spurs done with modric?

because unlike Spurs, RvP isdown to his last year on this contract - so its now or never ( in getting a fee)

Basically yes mentally City now have the upper hand also Man utd have strengthened but I don't think enough, only time will tell, please do not be offended by my predictions as they are usually wrong, I am only good with scorelines and scorers.

the only mental advantage City have over last season is that they know the current team are capable of winning the league

Utd have still managed to do this on average at least once every two years since the EPL began and with a much weaker squad (according to a lot of people in general) still managed to lose the league on gd alone.

For Utd, just getting through the season without any major injuries would be a significant strengthening without additional signings lol

Rumours are we have offered 15m as a final offer. What with the 4 strikers we already have and no guarantee of selling any of them we can't really afford to spend more.

I think PSG and Juventus will offer more than that so good luck to him.

No other transfers on the horizon. More focused in getting the rest of Hughes rubbish out.

Ba and Tiote linked to Man UTD.

Yes please. :)

Transfer rumours will start spinning up in earnest again now.

Have heard about Tiote, Ba, Moura, RvP etc over the last few days. If we get one of those players I would be amazed. Moura and RvP, no chance.

Tiote has a lot of potential which should be playing in the CL. Will be interested to see where he goes because all 4 of the CL clubs could do with a solid tackling DM. Certainly at Chelsea it would free up Mierles.

RvP probably wants to win things, tired of Arsenal always falling short at the final hurdles.

So counts Man Utd out, most likely be City or RM.

Now we wait...

I can't quite figure out what makes you think that City are going to dominate. They haven't strengthened over last year and United had pretty much the worst season we have had injury wise. City needed to rely on goal difference to win it so I think that we will still be challenging City next year just fine.

letting rpv, fabregs etc go clases us as a feeder club and last i read, no titling winning side is a feeder club.

if u want to compete with the best u cant go and sell your best players to the best teams around no matter how much moneu you throw at it.

if it means arsenal lose out on 20m by keeping rvp then so be it. let him go for free. send a message to all arsenal players that you will honour your contract and not **** off the moment u get a chance too.

no one put a gun on fabregas, nasri, hleb, rvp etc to sign long term deals. they all had a there own free will to make a decision.

IMo we should have made an example to fabregas. we should have that ****er rot in the reserves till his contract runs out.

end of the day, rvp, fagrebas etc were all bought for peanuts. its not as if we bought those players for 40m and later on losing that 40m and letting them go for free. no sir.

we bought rvp for what? 2m? at worse he goes for free next year and we only lost 2m. thats nothing.

Time for arsenal to set an example. we are becoming a ****ing joke. how are we suppose to compete and improve when every year our best players leave once they change there mind?

please tell me how then? how can we compete?

if we let rvp go what message does that send to the rest of the arsenal players and potential arsenal players?

i tell u what it sends, it sends this message:

"hey, come and join arsenal, a top 4 club that will help u manufacture a move to one of the top elite sides in europe once u prove yourself in this team"

GREAT message innit. i expect Wilshere, vemahlen, chambalin to all follow once they establish themselves. THIS is the message we are sending out to wilshere and co.

How can ANY arsenal fan be happy about this? How can anyone not see the real picture here, the real clear message ?

it is a ****ing joke we have become, city's and barca's reserve/B team where the top players from our side get "promoted" to the barca/city side.

Last season we did win on GD but on a whole we deserved to win it, scored the most, conceded the least and won the games we had to. utd didn't do that. Using injuries is a pretty pathetic excuse tbh. Every team gets injuries.

Would you have done better with Vidic in the team? maybe.
Would we have won the games that Aguero missed with injury? maybe. Would we have won more games had Lescott not got injured resulting in Savic playing? maybe.
You cannot say that because you got a lot of injuries thats why you didn't win anything.

Next season even if we don't sign anyone i think we will be a lot stronger. Mentally we have overcome the hurdle of all the past results which helps massively and also last season we still had players gelling together. Nasri, Aguero, Clichy and so on can get better and a full preseason together will show that i think.

Anyway back OT.
Apparenly utd have sent a "delegation" to Brazil to get Lucas Moura. Would love to see him in the prem. Better all round player than Neymar tbh.

Have u seen Cities bench compared to united bench? Dont spout abotu cities so called injuries when they can happily bring on nasri, dzeko, Tevez off the bench if Silva, augero got injured.

United can bring who? Scholes? Giggs? sorry but united had more injuries then city. city had hardly any injuries and teh squad as a whole was soo stupid that city could afford Tevez to go on a holiday for most of the season without him being noticed

Whilst I agree that injuries shouldn't be used as an excuse your dismissal of them is naive to the extreme. City would have had to have played a lot better to win the title last season had we not been without Vidic (among others for the length of time we were)
