Welp, after weeks of reading this forum, the time has come :) First ever build and still learning, so bare with me. My budget is not strict, I can stretch to better options should they be needed(but no further than £1000)

I will be overclocking, but not for now, so no need for a cooler just yet.

Already have: Mouse, Keyboard, Samsung 830 SSD

Here's what i've put together from reading similar threads of this price range:

MSI HD 7850 Twin Frozr III OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Cards 194.99
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) -189.95
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM £83.99
Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 700W '80 Plus Bronze' Power £79.99
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £79.99
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM £52.99
Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller - Black £49.99
Corsair Vengeance Blue Low Profile 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CML8GX3M2A1600C9B) £44.99
Sony Optiarc AD-5280S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.99

Total : £808.87

Re: GPU: Read a review that stated this card was not the quietest, which goes against the OCUK reviews and from what i've read in threads on here. Can anyone clear this up?

Re: PSU: Currently out of stock, can anyone recommend something similar?

Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Alright, MSI it is.

I can stretch to better PSU if there's any need?

If you want more silence then the Fractal Design R3 looks good. Loads of sound deadening in those things!
Currently going for £80.

I'm quite set on the z9 actually. I love the look of it, and it's price, and i'm quite confident from videos i've seen that it's quiet enough.

The CM Silent Pro M 600 will do the job. The CM 500 would probably as well, but I'd get the 600W version.

Thanks, added.

Only question mark now is over Hard drives. The Seagate Barracuda's seem to have largely unfavorable reviews? These are pretty much the only drives I ever see recommended in here. They can't be that bad surely?

If you are unsure, Western Digital have the best reliability record, although none of the manufacturers are really shining in that department. I have Samsung F3's, and they've been solid.

The Seagate 7200.11 series was very poor, but their 7200.12 is all right. Also you have to take user reviews with a pinch of salt.
