Whos staying on Win7 and whos going to Win8?

I've read a few links recently that MS are offering something like a £25-40 upgrade from any MS license to Win8... who will be going to that?

I'm mainly interested who thinks they will stay on Win7 for a long time? I don't really like the idea of Metro for a workstation - thoughts?

Also do you think a lot of people may stray to OSX? It seems a bit too foolish to go fully metro doesn't it? Even Apple have kept workspaces separate as I don't really think there is any place for app based workspaces on a workhorse setup?

I'm tempted by the price, but may hold of installing. tbh most of my time is spent with apps at full screen (even on my workstation) so fail to see the hatred towards Metro.

People straying to OSX? i highly doubt that unless apple suddenly decides to allow install on any device. Linux on the other hand may pickup a few customers though.

I'll be sticking with Windows 7 for my main PC for the moment but I'll certainly be investing a Windows 8 tablet or some kinda, preferable with the full version not the RT version so an x86.

£25 - £40? we are the apps generation now.. its gotta be < £5 and preferably 69p...

no ill not upgrade every other MS OS is a duffer anyway....

Win 2000 = ok
Win Me = poop
Win Xp = ok
Vista = poop
Win 7 = ok
Win 8 = ?

I think I will skip this one if the pattern holds true

Yep ill be staying with 7 had a play with 8 and once metro it turned off its pretty much the same anyway, the one reason to go I suspect would be for its integration with xbox and winpho8 nether of with I have

Win 7 for me, dont get why they feel the need to go all tabletty on a desktop.

As already mentioned i may invest in the tablet in the future. But waiting for the 10" Google tab to be honest.

I will be sticking with windows 7, but i would love a crystal ball to see if MS go back to the more traditional ui for windows 9 or if the metro style is here to stay; I suppose a lot depends on how successful win 8 is ..?

I can't see any reason for myself to upgrade to Windows 8. 7 has been absolutely rock solid for me.

I will be staying with win7. It is a solid OS for me and im so used to the interface over the years i would prefer not to learn where everything is again

Using the release candidate atm and have to say that I like it and will be upgrading.

Cant see why everyone is hating Metro.....
