Now, I am not slating post men, they already have a tough job to do.
But we got a right twit on our route, he only started a week or so ago. The previous chap (really nice old lad, had all the time for him) had no issues.
The issue is our border colli has a grudge with letter entering the letterbox haha. She has never once bitten anyone, softest dog you will meet, and probably the derpiest as well bless her.
Anyway, the other day my mum was stopped in the middle of the road and questioned by the post man saying he will start refusing to put mail through the door in fear for his fingers.
Now, I can understand his point. But it's just not going to happen. I am at home today (day off woot!) and I just encountered this 'new guy'. Opel (dog) went rushing to the door and snatched the post from the letter box as he was feeding it through. He saw my silhouette so I thought I would apologies.
I open the door confronted with a real nasty peice of work, swearing, shouting "THAT DOG IS A WILD ANIMAL AND NEEDS TO BE PUT DOWN!" At which point she walked up to him and started to lick his fingers!
I said "Sorry mate, she is a bit dim and has a ongoing battle with evil envelopes". Trying to cheer the situation up... Nope.
"I have had it, I am reporting that dog, I want it dead before the end of the month".
At this point I turned hostile "Has she bitten you? Is she biting you now? No? Get out of my site, you report the dog, but now I will be reporting you"
So, I rang up the post office just now, they suggested a dog cage for the envelopes. Which is something that totally skipped my mind so will get one tomorrow. However, I know she will still run to the door and jump up against it.
If he does report dog, what sort of power will he have in actually having her put down? She has never bitten anyone, has a great reputation in the neighborhood with the families as she often plays with the children in the road on hot days (live in a close so it's very friendly).
Grrrr, grumpy arse, I know it's a tough job, but honestly?
EDIT!
This is opel, the deadly being she is!

agnes said:Ok, I kid you not. Mum just got a call from the post office AND the police.
He reported it to the police that the dogs (we have 2, other doesn't bother with the door), were out on the street attacking people including him on several occasions and that we were overly abusive and threatened him...
So, mail delivery has been suspended to our address and we will hear back on Monday.
What the actual F? We have a witness not in the family, this is a worker that my mum employs as a personal assistant (mum works from home), who has witnessed both events.
This is a joke surely?
