If its true, I'll be very pleased.. until now I've been simply waiting for GOG to take a glance at it and see what they could do, but this could potentially be better

It sounds like more or less the same game but with fixes so it'll run on stuff without the need to dig around the web for fixes to crash problems and the like on newer systems, which is honestly the only thing I'd like to see done with it
(although a high-definition remake would be sweet too)

This also coincides with recently fleabaying my remaining ff7 cd box sets a while back :)
Turning out to be a good afternoon

Great news. I've never actually played this one (blasphemous I know... I did dress as cloud accompanied by tifa for a fancy dress once though) so I will definitely be purchasing :D

If it's simply cloud saves and achievements, that's nothing to to jump around about at all, although continued support on the PC/w7 is great, something bad feels like the Character Booster thing will be a microtransaction and no doubt many, many people will buy it but to do that to such an old game is greedy.

Obviously you'll get the argument "well don't buy it then" but the whole idea of it gives them the idea to keep on doing it into the future into some of the incarnations we have today and hopefully not, worse in the future.

Unless it comes with the cost of the game in which, who cares :)

I don't get how micro-transactions would work for a single player game like this?

It's weird back when I was young I used to gloat about FF7 being better then FF8, however right now I would much rather get in on some FF8 action then FF7. :(

Not having played FFVII and dressing up as Cloud is blasphemous, thats like wearing a cross without being Christian.

You had no right!!!! :p

If this is just a re-release and not a remake, what's with the need for a 2GHz CPU, 1 GB of ram and a DX9 graphics card? The first release of FFVII on the PC was in 98 so if this isn't a remake shouldn't it only need a 1998 type PC? or do these achievements and cheats require that much more processing power/ram?

wasn't this already posted like last week??

Sorry if it was already posted a mod can delete this
I don't get much time to browse here and was excited to see something finally being done about the injustice that is the ff7 psx > pc port 15 ish years back :P

p.s. phat if its an exact re-release that runs without crashing on windows 7+ then I'll still be happy with it :P can't be arsed with the consoles anymore
