After all that job searching I've finally got the opportunity for a job interview.

It's at an electronics store and it is next week.

I don't really know what to expect especially being my first job interview but I really hope I get this job.

Has anyone got any tips?

Firm handshake. Its the failing of MANY people, not just in interviews, but whenever I meet a new client and I get the limp handshake from them, its just disappointing.

They will probably ask you to describe yourself, at a recent interview I had, they asked me '5 adjectives to describe yourself'.

Also, humour them a little bit. Once, my Dad was in an interview, he told me they asked him what his weaknesses were, he replied with 'Mars bars'. I think he got the job, however I'm not too sure.

I was told the current job i got because i was confident, the other guy didn't get it because he was cocky. So mention your strengths but don't claim you're the best thing since sliced bread.

Generally having a real interest in what they say, prepare some questions. I've not had an interview yet where they've not rounded it of saying "have you got anything to ask", google some good things to ask if you need to but it shows an interest.

Look smart, depending upon the job you may not need to wear shirts when you have it but it's a good impression to make, it's only for a few hours :D

First interviews are a learning experience, don't be disheartened if you make a mistake or even don't get the job. It's a bit cliché i know, but it's something you practice and perfect.

Overall just let them see your personality.

No that's a bit too specific...

Try something like "i like the idea of working within a large company with future promotion prospecs."

Obviously change it to how it suits you to say, but don't go crazy on your research, just show that you've looked into them and like what you see, not "i love the fact you sell x or y"

Not sure if i explained it well...

I asked one of them where the RAM was and he called his manager...

Woah... that's poor XD
I like popping into PC world and asking random questions... often throws them off. Once mentioned a ps/2 keyboard, dude was like "consoles are over there *points*"

Wouldn't of wanted to be the guy outsmarted by a 15 year old in your case...
