No - The last one was utter tripe.
The last one was someone deciding they wanted to make a Western and using the BTTF films as a vehicle for that. The third BTTF film has references to several Westerns.

They could easily have made a spin off TV series based on the BTTF concept.
Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Huh? Think, OP! Think! It's a bad idea all round!

Who cares - It was pants all the way through.
Well, yeah, that was my point. The time travel was an irrelevance in the third film. It was just a western with some time travel at the edges.

It's a bad idea as the originals are all classics. No doubt there will be a remake as there's a trend in filming remakes....take Robocop and Total Recall for instance.
Total Recall is not a remake of Total Recall, it lends the Title of an Adaption of We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, which infact bares very little resemblance to the book, where as the new Total Recall follows the book closer.
Total Recall 2012 just uses the Title so people have a reference and a connection, as the books title isn't very catchy for the general public.
Point being, it ain't exactly a reboot/remake...
Robocop is a remake though![]()
the trailer for total recall looks scene for scene copy from the 80s one. apparently starship troopers is more close to the book.
why the paul verhoven hate in hollywood? all the movies being remade are classics!

Hardly a book, iirc it is only about 10 pages long, there isn't much to go on really. I love Total Recall, one of my favourite movies. I like the way it also incorporates elements from quite a few other PKD stories.
I will probably give the remake a go, I think it could be interesting.
Trailer isn't exactly the same. the synopsis isn't even the same.
In Total Recall 1990, there is at the very least the illusion of going to Mars and the involvement of aliens, it is based very loosely on the original book in that there is a memory company and a character who wants to experience Mars so goes to get the implanted.
Total Recall 2012 synopsis - In 2084, after being devastated by war, Earth is divided into two superpowers locked in a battle for supremacy. In this world lives Douglas Quaid, a simple factory worker suffering from violent nightmares who, after a visit to the Rekall Corporation that provides its clients with implanted artificial memories of the lives they'd like to have, begins to suspect that he's a spy whose memory and personality were erased and replaced, though he is unaware which side of the fight he's on.
