What game would you like to see remade or updated to current generation standards?

For me it'd have to be Resident Evil 2 & 3 and possibly CV. After seeing what they did with the REmake for Gamecube I can only think about awesome they would be on current generation consoles/PC. The thing with these games is that by being remade they gain so much in the atmosphere department that it wouldn't matter too much if the game was a copy and paste job although I'd love if they would make subtle improvements and add in new story elements and paths to take like they did with the REmake.

I know one game that'll probably be on many peoples lists; Final Fantasy VII. For me, I really don't want this. I'd rather they make a new Final Fantasy with old style combat system and story than a remake of FF7. They only thing a remake would add for me is better graphics. The game is almost perfect as it is and the early 3D Graphics just add to the charm of the game in my opinion.

I'd say resident evil 2 but I'm not quite sure I would.

I'd like to see either Metal Gear 1&2 remade (not to be confused with MGS) or Duke Nukem 3D.

I'd like to see a side scrolling beat em up, using a similar art design to Street Fighter 4\MVC3. Streets of rage or Double Dragon could be done really nicely like that I think

I've always wondered why Capcom haven't remade Dino Crisis. It would work amazingly if they made it in a similar style to Resident Evil 4.

Also Timesplitters needs a HD remake. In fact remake all three games and put them into a collection.

Lastly Toejam & Earl and Empire of Steel. However I doubt these would work well as remakes; probably just nostalgia taking over my rationality.

Final..........Fantasy.........nah..........Would be nice to have a proper remake of Sonic 1 to 3 from the Megadrive. Sonic Generations wasn't close enough compared to the fan made games.

Earthworm Jim !!!!!!

/end thread ! lol

Again like OP said I would like FF7 but like nothing touched at all except graphic's update. Even then I'm not sure it would ever happen because imagine trying to recreate "The Planet" or Gaia (proper name for the world :p ) It would take a stupid amount of time and resources just for that alone not to mention disc or HDD space for it.

Plus it wont happen for a long time because Yoichi Wada (CEO of SE) said they will not do a FF7 remake until they release a FF game that "bests" FF7 in terms of quality.

Square Enix CEO's Conditions for an FFVII Remake

An interesting tidbit has come out of Square Enix's annual shareholder's briefing, which was held today. When CEO Yoichi Wada was asked about a possible Final Fantasy VII remake, he replied saying that the company will produce one only when a new Final Fantasy game bests it, quality-wise.

Wada admitted that at present, the company is not making Final Fantasy games that exceed the quality of FFVII. If they were to release a 7 remake right now, the FF franchise would be done with, he said.

While these statements could be taken as high praise for FFVII, it has more negative connotations when it comes to current state of the Final Fantasy franchise.
