Is physx worth getting a nvidia card?

I was just wondering whether the increased physics power availible in some games using the extra processing power of the GPU would be worth spending a bit of extra money to get an equally good nvidia card compared to the amd alternative?

BTW my budget for a graphics card is around the £ 100 to 125 range, if that makes any difference.

Thanks
Al

Depends if you play non stop physx titles imo.

For that budget you're probably looking at an amd card anyhow unless you snag a used 560ti or similar.

in your price range the GPU will be hard pressed enough just running the latest games without physx, trying to turn on physx will cripple performance that could be used to ease up other more useful settings imo

still no, a card you could get for £100 would still not be all that great in SLI... there would still be other settings that would give you a more noticeable improvement in image quality before you wanted to start trying to run with physx on

The best you could get for that budget is a second hand 5850/5870 perhaps. Certainly you cant get enough gpu power for physx with that kind of budget unfortunately.
