You should reconsider darksiders. I took a punt with it a few years back when it was on deal and I'm glad I did! It's really good fun. I've just preordered darksiders 2 as a result actually .

You get points for bloing **** up, boost for drifting all over the place, points for blowing other cars up, Can be running a perfect race then get blown up and put to last within seconds lol
