Has anyone used 'black box' insurance and did it cut your premiums?

I have a girl on facebook who is limited to 15miles per day on hers and it still costs her £1500 to insure an old Audi A4.

It isn't worth the lower premiums

lol wut - 15 miles a day!? **** the bed :(

My classic policy for my first year effectively limited me to less than this of averaged out. Although not limited on a per day basis.

Black Box insurance for me worked out no cheaper and imposed silly restrictions.

I tried using one of the comparison websites but the quotes were massively more than what I was on now.

A lot of insures place penalties on you if you drive after 10pm and stupid things like that

Would have been her premium without it then? I assume you have some numbers to back up your statement?

Pretty sure a black box would only send my premium one way :/

Why do I get the feeling they'd constantly be looking for any excuse not to pay out with one of these too?

We work with the largest distributor of one of the more popular black-box cameras, they've been in talks with some domestic (as opposed to business) vehicle insurers, we'll soon see black-box cameras making a much more positive impact on insurance prices, at least that's what I've been told!

No, but those with a round trip commute of under 15 miles could.
