Resident Evil 6 20/11/2012

The demo is out today for those of us who have bought Dragon's Dogma on Xbox 360.

Played it and it seems decent. Still clunky, like all RE games, though being able to move and shoot is a lot better. I wouldn't say its a definite purchase for me but its should be a good game.

The resident evil series for me ended after Code Veronica :(

I am not a fan of anything after that (despite playing and owning all the games).

Yeah the clunkiness I don't mind, because really, it just wouldn't be a Resident Evil game if there wasn't, but after being so used to the camera and the way you move in RE4 and RE5, this game needs getting some used to. Being able to run backwards whilst the camera is still and focused feels really weird, and the fact that it's a bit too close as well.

Not too fond of the HUD and interfaces since it makes this game look like any other modern action shooter with all it's flashiness, but at least some good classic sounds are still there.

Graphically some things are quite impressive, especially the lighting on Leon's demo.

Overall I'm still looking forward to this game. Playing as multiple different characters and then you have the Co-Op along with it is a nice step up from RE5.

RE5 was one of the best game I ever played , hopefully RE6 can go further
The problem I had with 5 (and 4, although mentioning 4 in bad light is blasphemy in these parts ;) ) was that - whilst RE had been a successful survival horror game, it made nothing more then an average (imo) action title - and thats exactly what it had been turned intro. Literally shocked at the high review scores 5 got, it would have been literally a 60/100 title had i reviewed it.

Code Veronica was the last decent RE game IMO.
Woop, someone on here actually agrees with me :p

I am playing through Resi 5 co-op at the moment.

Having tried the RE6 demo, I'm not convinced. It may be that it was just a poor demo (I'm hoping) but I did not like the UI, the movement was all over the place and the camera was terrible.

Chris' run and gun level did nothing for me, Jakes was slightly better but the shooting barrels thing for a mini-boss felt really stale. Leons level had potential, it certainly felt more like Resident Evil, but it was very short.

They have 3 months to sort the controls and camera out, I am really hoping this turns out good as I am thoroughly enjoying RE5 co-op, I like that RE6 appears to be built around it too.

Resi 5 looks more like Resident Evil than Resi 6.

true, and after the backlash they got for RE5, i struggle to understand how they've managed to make something that appears to be even further departed from the original games, aside from looking like a bad RE game, it looks a bad game in general.

zombies with guns!?

resident evil is dead.

its been dead since CV

To be honest with the way the Resident Evil franchise has progressed now, it doesn't really matter to me if it isn't survival horror any more.

Unfortunately it's the fault of changing times, and with shooters becoming the most popular genre, it just can't be helped.

If I want something that is true to the genre, I'd rather Capcom make something that is similar to Demento/Haunting Ground. True survival horror for me is a game where you have practically no weapons at all and have to use other methods to outwit your enemy. Shooting and killing just isn't scary.

I have a feeling, well hoping, that its going to be very very good. I think the demos and gameplay videos will have got them tweaking things ready for release to make it a great game.. If its not them meh will still get it and play it. When i played RE5 for the first time i wasnt massively impressed but it grew on me. Hopefully the action bits in the videos and trailers are just smaller bits and the suspense/horror makes an appearance :)

Ever the optimist ;)
