Parrot MKi9200 Install (56k warning)

Hi There,

This was a lucky find when googling :) - I've a facelifted 1999 CLK its a 320 Conv but don't think it makes any difference,

My question is did you need an additional sot harness between the std HU and the parrot? some places say yes some no, I really don't want to be cutting wires,

And the blue part I assume just sits behind the HU,

Sorry for the questions, but would really help as I'm looking into doing this soon,

Cheers
Andy

I really need to get my Mki9200 fitted to my saab, i took the HU out and thought 'sod that!', I haven't a clue what goes where, the mute 1/2/3 wires etc!.
I found a parrot specialist near where i live who will install it for me for £45 so i think i'll just do that!

i found the internal amplifier in the little blue box to be a complete waste of time for music, soon as i turned it up the bass distorts

Hi Guys

I did not use the extra SOT lead in my install, just the standard loom. I have no issues with the internal amplifier, but I did need to install extra suppressors on the power lines and I think the earth lead to stop some alternator noise.

Blue box went behind the HU yes.

That's great, thank you very much for replying :)

NP glad to help. I didn't use the band to attach the control to the steering wheel as I found it intensely annoying when steering. I d/s taped it to the top flat part of the steering wheel boss/airbag housing out of the way.

All fitted :) - i put the mic in the centre of the dials, I too thougt balls to removing tons of trim, thou may look at it again in the summer,

Made a little 90 Deg bracket and mounted the display in that cubby hold place and put the iphone/USB cable into the glove box,

So far very impressed its a clever bit of kit, just trhinking where to put the remote, hmmm I'll sleep on that one,

Again thanks for doing this thread really helped with the pic's :)

can't fit mine, halfords told me i needed the sot-109 cable, whereas i actually need a saab18tel lead, then i need to get the aux enabled from a saab specialist, it's turning out to be a pita and expensive!
