I have a prob here, Ive just installed arctic cooler freezer 7 pro on my dell XPS 7100 and now and then I get CPU fan failure at start up, only come once if I reboot I cant see it on screen, but if i live PC off for a certain amount of time it comes back, Ive checked fan is working properly temps are great 18 degrees IDLE,cables are in the right place and all seems normal I've checked bios but cannot see any options, any ideas what is causing this and how I can fix it? Or shall I just ignore error?

Cheers

Is it chip set fan or cpu fan...cud try lowering/raising the speed in bios, shud be there somwhere, i had same on mine, was the chip set fan causing hassle...knew it was working so turned off the warning. lol

wow...Nice forum, guess its a bit hard to get an answer here!

Yes it is a nice forum. Speaking proper English and giving us information about what your system is would mean we might be able to help you.

But of course making statement like above will cause many of us to not help.

Most likely that when the fan runs low it's rpm is below the Dell set rpm speed so the pc thinks the fan is broken. See if you can change or disable the broken fan setting in your bios.
Again please don't be a spoilt lil kid and patience is everything :)

It's just how the PWM works on the fan. It actually stalls below a certain RPM and won't turn. This only happens when the PC switches on though, it spins up as windows starts loading. I know because I have two and they both do it.

Theres no option in the bios regarding fan control or either disable error, dell bios is pretty basic,I will just ignore it temps are great and fan is spinning good.
