Down under mate!
So I finally got around to watching all 5 series that had been sat on my shelf gathering dust.

WOW:eek: Couldn't believe how good it was, until halfway through the 5th series and BAM! God awful ending.:(

Anyone else feel a little let down by the ending?

Yup,

Its was very much cancelled at the last minute, fantastic series, in the middle of series 2 they ran out of money because they were effectively running 2 sets, one for the galatica and one for the pegesus... thats why....

They decided to quickly end the pegesus...

Before the end of the third series (March 2007) it was announced that Galactica would have only one more series. Shortly afterwards it was announced that the final series would be split into two parts. There was over two years between the announcement that series 4 would be the final series, and the series actually finishing! Surely that can't possibly count as "cancelled at the last minute".

ThundyCat - what didn't you like about the ending? I thought that it was pretty epic...

It really is a fantastic series, I watched it all in one big go too, it's pretty epic.

It does go up and down a bit in quality, but even when at it's worst I still find it very good :)

How they suddenly gave up all there technology when they deciding to settle on the Earth type planet. And how small pockets of people headed of in different directions with no supplies and equipment.

Maybe I just didn't want it to end. :(

I keep trying to rewatch it on my blurays but series 3 is such a slog. May as well watch it like this:

Mini-series
S1
S2/Razor
S3 EP 1-4
S4.5
The Plan - If you really want.

The Ending:
The thing with Kara being an angel or the key to Earth was just odd. Was she like Head Six or something else? It wasn't really explained. Season 3 and 4 were a bit of a mess and it feels like Kara dying was something they just threw in and didn't know what to do with afterwards.

Throwing away their ships was ridiculous as well, did they not think that remnants of the Cylons might rise up eventually and start the cycle again? Meh. I think my viewing order fixes the entire series :p

I stopped watching when they revealed who the last Cylon was. I was losing interest anyway though tbh. I did watch the last episode as well and it didn't exactly have me scrambling to go back to see what I had missed

Okay, fair enough. I wasn't convinced by the decision to drop all technology and spread out into disparate groups either. It did seem a little... forced - like they were trying too hard to fit everything neatly their "Homo-Sapiens vs Neanderthals" theory, without leaving any real traces of technology.

I liked everything up until the arrival on the planet though... I loved the way the final battle played out, and how "that frakking song" represented co-ordinates to Earth

After a bumpy start, i liked it.

However the ending was mega bad. Angels? podgy ones who frack about a lot and join the army and stuff? no im just not sold..

For me, comically bad ending, but solid overall.

I've no beef with the ending. Epic series all through. The characters were spectacular.

And even thinking of Cally's death makes me want to cry. So unjust. That's good plotting.

I grew to thoroughly hate President Roslin towards the end. On the other hand Admiral Adama remains the coolest characters to have been in any TV show ever. And the ending was definately rubbish.

I thought the show was fantastic from beginning to end. I was a little disappointed with the ending, but only because it wasn't quite what I had or hoped for. That's not to say it wasn't a good ending though. :)

Just finished watching this on Netflix - loved it :D

As far as I can tell everything wrapped up nicely apart from the real lack of answers re: Starbuck.

Otherwise very enjoyable :D
