Pranjic and Rodellaga will both be done after the weekend.

Most active team in the window and £0 spent! Awwww yeaaahhhh!

Pranjic has just signed for Sporting Lisbon and Rodallega signed for Fulham.

Do you still trust that clown on twitter Azza? :p

A quick dodgy google translate comes out as:

The A. S. Rome S.p.A. announces that it has signed an agreement with Liverpool Football Club
the outright sale of the rights of the player Fabio Borini, to
against the recognition of a fee of 13.3 million, payable in three equal installments
amount.
The agreement also provides for the award of bonuses tied to performance targets for
Liverpool FC goals of certain sports, for a maximum of 1 million euros.

lol

We are glad to take in our team such a great player like Nuri and we wish Luka all the best for the future.

not a bad effort though ...... unless....

Just out of interest, how often do cash + player deals actually happen?
There's always talk this time of year of these sort of deals happening but do they ever really occur? Not in Div2 or similar I mean but with good quality players who don't want to be makeweights.

Eto and Ibra deal is the most recent I can think of, which was ridiculous.

There's been a load of rumours about the availability of Afellay over the past few days, apparently Barca want to get rid of him, both ourselves and Inter are interested apparently! Didn't think he was very good in the Euro's but the entire Dutch team played like **** tbf.

ok. fair enough.

and the terry thing is a completely different thing, johnnyG. we all know what he is (good footballer, bit of a scummer) and this isn't the thread for it and i've seen enough of the racism trial thread tbh.

What you've seen is that sometimes you'll get dug out by people for spreading nasty stories without backing them up.

Just to remind you:

You've had 2 days to come up with something that backs your statement.
Is there a problem?

What you so casually put up as a "truth" and take delight in spreading around is actually quite nasty - you're saying that John Terry is horrible enough to pay money to someone to abort his unborn child, and that Veronica Perroncel is a horrible person who would accept money to abort an unborn child. Take 2 seconds of your time and imagine that being said about your brother or sister. (NOTE - I AM NOT RELATED TO JOHN TERRY OR VERONICA PERRONCEL).

Or you can prove me wrong and show why you think this allegation that has never since been repeated (I dunno - might have something to do with Veronica Perroncel you know, winning those cases against the newspapers and them having to print retractions) is true and you feel comfortable repeating it on a public forum. I can wait.

On Topic - I have a feeling Borini will show that Chelsea made a mistake in not working harder to keep him.

If he has watched us play over the last season, he will defintiely pick RM ahead of UTD...

a team with a lot of deadwood who specialise in counter attacking and long ball play who arent champions and got dumped out of 2 european competitons very early are unlikely to ineterest a player who could go anywhere he wanted to - i must stress this.

May as well just give up trying to sign anyone now then eh? You know what sod it just close the football club entirely as we surely cannot recover from last season :o

Fulham somehow got cash + two good youngsters from Liverpool for Konchesky :p

Indeed. Can see us signing 2 more. CF and a CB. Cant seem them being big names but very hot talent.

As far as am aware we want to keep BA and he wants to stay as long as he played in a more central role this year.

Pardew and Car are both looking for a new youngish forward who can score goals with his head to keep things fresh but will have to be happy playing as a squad player.

Our midfield is looking well mint atm
Jonas/Cabaye/Tiote/Hatem/Amalfitano/Marveaux/Obertan/Gosling and am hoping to see a lot more of Abeid and Vuckic this season. Vuckic has always looked good and it's so hard to believe he only 19

Yeah I keep forgetting Vukic :p

We need another FB even if we get Debuchery as we will only have Santon/Deb. then we need another CB/CF like you said. Just want them in fast, hating going to the wife on deadline day.

Stop stop stop, please. As a Stoke fan it makes me incredibly jealous. Really impressed with the way that Newcastle have gone about things in the last couple of season's, methodical well thought out signings and altering the formation to fit the squads talents. Unlike the 'money ball' direction that Stoke are heading in :(

i don't have to back anything up, everyone bar chelsea supporters (well, in your case, an exception as you were hardly singing his praises) i find it laughable that you defend a person like john terry. john terry 'daddy of the year'. i have my opinion of him and i'm quite happy with it.

this is the transfer thread btw. i hope you input more into the forum rather than just bleating on about this subject.

In an prefect world we keep our current squad and would sign

Erik Pieters LB Been linked with him now for over a year. Very good player
Debuchy RB
Douglas CB. Needs to stay in Holland until the end of aug so he can play for them. (its ment to be a done deal)

No clue on the forward though. Dejong seems a deadend now.

It has been nice to see and strange as well, Newcastle are normally a ****ed up mess of a football club, it's hard to make the adjustment :D

Only problem with Pieters is that he is rather injury prone, but apart from that seems a great player.

Yeah I heard De Jong deal is dead which is a shame but we defo need another CF with Ba/Cisse off to the ACoN again this year :(

With you ditching Best I'd be very surprised if you didn't bring someone else in, you've got a sensible system where you have been exclusively going after good footballers rather than whoever happens to be popular right now despite how **** they might be. It's quite amazing the amount of clubs who buy off, Euro/world cup performances, who buy players who are available rather than waiting for those who are good, etc, etc.

That all pretty much makes me think you had 2-3 targets at least to go for and even if it came to it, wouldn't panic and buy someone overpriced or simply not good enough to make up the numbers. If it came to it you'd wait and buy someone early Jan, or no one at all rather than buy the wrong player.

I'll point out Arsenal again, what did Benny, or Gervinho, Santos offer us this year, made up the numbers, Mertesacker as well, but ultimately Benny was on a pretty big wage and pee'd that money away, the other 3 we now have on long term contracts and already have been or will be replaced.

I'd take one slightly worse year than one year with a few more goals during the ACON and 3 years stuck with a player you can't get rid of and offers nothing to the team. Newcastle will get some bad players along the line, you can't avoid that, people who can't adapt to England, get injured, or give up once they get a big move and a big wage. Again Arsenal, we got Chamakh over someone good for the team because he was on a free.... a free transfer isn't free when you end up paying someone 4 mil a year for 4 years who offers nothing to the team. Someone who cost 10mil, but actually contributed ends up far better value.
