Looking to build myself a new gaming pc in the next month or so, so i'm looking for some advice on choosing parts. I don't need a case, i have a Silverstone Fortress i can use and i have a monitor/mouse/keyboard, so just need the main system parts and an OS.

It's main use will be for gaming so would like it to be capable of running games like bf3 on ultra at 1920x1080.

Also planning on overclocking.

Difference between mine a tamzzy spec is the fact i have included a motherboard which supports SLI, though the PSU may need to be upgraded, depending on overclocks.

The SSD i have chosen is more reliable, for the extra bit of cash, its well worth it.

Bigger PSU, and no case :)

The prices of the 3570k have changed, which is annoying.

Thanks for the suggestions, it will be about a month or so until i get funds together, so i might be lucky and the prices drop a little by then :D.

I'll most likely go with Doomedspeed's spec with maybe a slightly better cooler.

hahaha yea my bad, i didnt see that you did not want a case...in my defence, it was 3am in the morning...lol
the $$$ that u save from the case can be spent on other components which is exactly what doomed did.
although i would say that the windforce > msi oc
and the alpenfloehn is also better than the tranquillo

Fair enough, we've all done our fair share of midnight speccing. :)

The windforce would be a better option though i'm not sure it's worth the extra £20-£30.

Im not sure about the alpenfloehn, need to read up on it. Will take your word though. It's a good price and the award won't lie. :)

Quite nice

You could use the developers copy of windows 8 now to save the cash. It will be released in october you could decide which you'd prefer then.

Also at 100 posts you get free delivery. Certainly worth discussing your options especially if you want to do the build in stages

I've noticed that there are 2 versions of that ssd, a notebook and a desktop version, does it really matter which one i get? The desktop version is more expensive than the Crucial M4 right now.

Edit: Just realised it's the same price, and it's cheaper than the M4's normal price.

Dunno why they bothered with two versions.

I would take the 830 over the M4, although the M4 is really good (I got two).
