Runescape - Advert on TV!

Never stopped playing it since 2004 really. But I rarely play it now, just come on during summer holidays etc. Got a lvl 132 with 10 99's.
Similar stats here. Can't remember exactly i think i'm 135 with around that many 99s. Stopped playing from 08-09 then played for another year and quit properly just wasn't getting into it the same.
It was on Channel 4 a short while ago during The Million Pound Drop Live, so prime time on a mainstream channel.
I don't know much about Runscape so decided to google it afterwards. Despite the fact that the advert says "Not Gameplay Footage", it doesn't even seem to remotely represent what the game is about, given that it is clearly quite dated!
You probably saw the older stuff. RS has gone through several massive updates, not least much better graphics

I started playing again a month ago (I started the account in 2006) when I got 2 weeks free membership for some reason and then enjoyed it enough to pay a months membership after the 2 weeks were up. Currently busting my balls trying to get a Chaotic Rapier and have no money as I've thrown it all into getting 90 Prayer (Want 95 but oh well 
). As for the Graphics they're pretty incredible for a browser based game that requires no additional downloads outside of Java. Shouldn't this be in the PC Games section though?

God, don't get me started on prayer... I've kept mine at 43 on this account for the moment, the only real fast way of doing it is do G Altar dbones. And even then you have to be minted!

. I've got between 35-40m worth of D Bones in the bank and made my own G Altar and Burners which cost around 2m to make it faster to do. I now have 1m cash and the main (Decent enough) combat items that I bought before I took a break over a year ago that cost me around 5m which are now only worth about 1m

My 1 defence pure seems to still exsist! 96 Dungeoning...rapier maul crossbow staff and longsword. Of course 110% legit

I played it for a couple of years when i was younger. It was enjoyable to play. I guess i stopped in the end because most of what i could do to further my character at that point was just clicking, but i got a lot of time out of it (and haven't completely ruled out the possibility of returning if i ever get bored enough).
I guess unlike most MMOs i've played the thing that really stands out is the quests. It has a storyline that's actually interesting. Yes, a lot of it isn't that original. But it's not a case of "go save generic princess character from castle, get 1000 gold".
Is it free now? I remember it had a very large free portion of the game, but it really came alive when you paid for membership (which wasn't that much, £3 or so per month).

Just had a quick look it is 97. Might try and get 99 constitution, currently at 92. I remember why i stopped playing...i lost a Godsword and dragon claws in pvp. Much prefer using the chaotic bow and godbook! good fun!

What is a good game? Something i enjoyed spending huge amount of times on? Check. Something i made tons of great friends on? Check. A challenge at times? Check. Massive variety of stuff to do? Check.
Of course like any MMO it has its downsides, namely grinding skills naturally but that was never really a necessity. There were times i would play for 3-4 months and not once touch any grinding skills/quests etc just solely pvp alone or in clans. I was in one of the top p2p clans for quite some time and i doubt any game will ever match the fun i had there.
I played free for about 1 month out of the 5 or so years i played it, at times having 2-3 accounts with paid memberships, so yes.
Trying to find a screenshot of my skills when i quit.....
edit: here we go one from the start of last year when i played for a couple of weeks while i was bored.
bank is pretty much empty i staked from ~50m up to ~400m then down to zero before quitting
