Hi again Lads,

Wasnt too sure if to put this question in the "cases" section or in here, in the end I opted for here, but please go ahead and move it if you feel it will get better attention in different section ;)

Ok as stated in the title, I have an P8Z77-V-Deluxe motherboard which can support USB 3.0, it has the header on the motherboard etc as you can see, please see the attached photo ;)

Unfortunatley the board didnt come with the USB 3.0 front panel or even the cable for it, so therefore I need to buy what I need :(

Ok, I have a coolermaster HAF 932 case ( http://www.coolermaster.co.uk/product.php?product_id=5363 ) , which you can see already has 4 x USB 2.0 ports plus other ports I dont even use to be honest, lol.

So I assume that I just buy a USB 3.0 front panel that fits into one of the 5.25" Drive Bays, is that correct as I havent ever bought anything like that before, please correct me If I am wrong ?

Obviously the USB 3.0 front panel would also need to have the cable included too as I mentioned earlier that the board didnt come with either the items :(

Are you only limited to 2 x 3.0 USB ports on the front panel to header or can you get a panel that maybe has 4 x 3.0 USB ports on the one panel and one cable ?
Asus dont really make this clear at all :(

And lastly, I guess I just leave all my top USB 2.0 ports/panel etc in place and connected just as they are, correct ?

ooop's, finally, can someone recommend one for me, I dont need top of the range and certainly dont want bottom of the range, I just want something that is good quality and will work at full speed etc if and when required, ohh, and it obviously needs to be finished in black colour to match the case.

Thanks again guys, you'z are always such a great help, appreciated ;););)

p.s
I dont need one that has all the bells & whistles like card readers etc built into it, just a simple straightforward one like what is in the picture will do me fine even if it is just 2 x USB 3.0 ports, be better if it had more than 2 obviously but I have a strange feeling it only supporters up to 2 ports on the header, but I dont know, mmmm

Tried having a look about the internet there and all I can find is ones with allsorts of different ports etc on them that I have no need for what so ever :(

That is what you need to fit a 5.25" bay and connect to your USB 3 19 pin connector on your motherboard.

You tend to find only two ports per header.

Something like this...

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-023-AK

would have both USB 2 and 3, on different headers, and that fits into a 3.5" bay. You would need to send them a note on a pre enquiry to ensure that the USB 3 and USB 2 cables both attach to the motherboard headers, it should but no harm in asking.

Thanks mate, I just ordered the one I stated in my previous post, I already have a front bay with 4x 2.0usb ports and other things, so theres no need for the extras, the 2 x usb 3.0 ports on the front will do me fine as I also have some on the rear of the case too :)

Thanks for your reply mate, you helped me make my mind up :) ;)

Best of luck, although I have always found the rear ports with an extension cable more robust and reliable than the front ones linked to the motherboard header.
