Got some time till it happens, but what ideas to celebrate her 30th?

I was thinking of a weekend away somewhere. Anyone been to any decent locations

If not a holiday, buy her a designer handbag. Women love them. Plus, they last forever and are practical. They might even hold their value fairly well, too.

Do something decent, and make sure it's different to other birthdays, especially if you were too poor to celebrate her 21st properly. I've shot myself in the foot though as I bought my fiancee a car for her 21st :(

OXO TOWER!

If you could afford a car at her 21st I would think you could afford something better 9 years later... :p

Stock reply:

Take her up the Oxo tower, I took my wife up the Oxo tower for her 30th. She really wasn't sure at first, but a few drinks to relax her and she really enjoyed it.

Other reply:
We did a big 30th birthday party with some friends to an 80s themed roller disco in London: http://www.rollerdisco.com/ which was amazing fun :)

for my wife's hired a river boat and had a big boozy day out with a load of friends, was great fun (was also ages ago, may need to trade)

Keep the receipt, as she will want to change it....

Take her to Wicklow, there's a big mountain to walk up and a nice long beach to stroll along, much nicer than Dublin....

I keep reading the OXO tower as some sort of euphemism am I doing it right?

Weekend at Butlins in Bognor Regis followed by a candle lit dinner for two at McDonald's
