Multimedia/gaming laptop under 2kg

I can second this! thats why I got my S13p. Please note that the IPS in the s15 apparently displays reds as orange. not sure how much of an issue this is. plenty of people of notebook forum seem happy enough, though it probably isn't a panel for a serious photo editor (professional)

I looked at the screen in detail, it has very very good viewing angles, good colours, and it is quiet sharp. Currently she wants a nice desktop space to work so something high res is a must. Comparing it to the Retina display, I must say it is not quiet as sharp due to the mbp rendering 2x the pixels the fixing it onto the screen but apart from that its more or less the same.

An update, I might wait for the batch of Windows 8 laptops to come out, the Acer ones look great.

Meh. Its only a quibble over £15 - https://windowsupgradeoffer.com/en-US/Home/ProgramInfo. Its just the OS, and nothing like mobile phone OS architecture where a new one creates a slew of new-technology-handsets.

A better question would be how much of an improvement will the Haswell (2013) processors be over ivy-bridge.

Just purchased a Vaio S13P for the misses myself. Ivy bridge and dedicated graphics for a grand, and she currently has a Crucial M4 256Gb which i will swap in :) Only downside is the 900p screen in the 13, but its only a smudge bellow 1080 :)
