Just sold a laptop for £750 and they want £75 charges! I thought there was a maximum amount they used to charge? 10% upto £40?

I shall NOT be using ebay anymore!

No way, these prices are crazy! It has been about 2 years since I sold anything, and after seeing this I wont be selling ever again.

Yikes, it did used to be capped at £40. Sold a few computers and Laptops in the last couple of years. £40 + delivery charges and PayPal fees was enough of a sting as it was.

All categories including Media-related and Technology-related, except those listed below
£0.01 or more
10% of the final selling price (up to a maximum of £75)

Wow, they've got very greedy with their prices. I hope people start moving to cheaper alternatives, I personally haven't used them for ages. :)

I'm so happy we have a members' market here. It's so much less of a ****take than ebay is.

I've sold about 400 quids worth of stuff over the last couple of weeks on the MM. If they took 10% there would be no way I'd be able to afford selling the stuff.

Unfortunately they have very high fees, but there is no competition so they can charge what they want.

I feel sorry for new ebay business members. It is very saturated at the moment and add on top the high insertion fees, final selling fees, paypal fees for each transaction and also how much you earn each month(or was it year). It is ridiculous.

That's ridiculous, especially considering they seem to have done it sneakily. It's such a popular website though, paypal and ebay.... the combo.

People who sell on eBay as a business get better rates anyway. I think they've done this out of greed to profit more from people who make a single sale and never come back, or that sell a few times a year and that's it.

It is incredibly greedy, percentage based fees are offensive when they're implemented like that, there's really no reason why they should be making more money on more expensive items.

Fees are high but at the end of the day they know their website is viewed by millions so that is how they will justify it. Also with the high amount of protection they offer buyers it means they are more likely to bid there than look at other options.
