I was parked on single yellow line today for 5 mins when I got back there was a parking warden with the pda/printer thing in her hand, all she said was "you shouldnt be parking there" and then I drove off I got nothing left on the car windows, can they still issue a ticket even without sticking it on car?? thanks

You've not been issued with a ticket, and you weren't photographed were you? I imagine the warden telling you to bugger off is their way of being nice :)

Putting your hazard lights on seems to counteract all traffic control and yellow lines, round here anyway :p

aka 'Park anywhere lights'. :D

Not if you have a complicated immobiliser system installed, casually activated, traffic warden turns up and "Look, officer, it won't start" *sound of starter motor fruitlessly turning a motor starved of petrol* "Ah OK then, have you called a breakdown service?" "Of course, they should be here by the time my wife gets back from the shops :D"

Tell that to the child who died because you stopped there

Oh wait, sorry, that only happens when you go one mile an hour or more over the speed limit.

On a serious note - do you still get joy from posting this?
I keep on reading them in the threads - speeding by 1mph kills people, childkiller.....doesn't it kinda get....you know....predictable?

All you're doing is taking the law and breaking down to the smallest detail or taking a very broad and liberal interpretation of safety adverts in a vain attempt to be funny.
Like the "micro$oft & M$" boys of the past - isn't it time to just let all this just die out??

On a slightly related note I was in the car with my mate and we had parked down an alley way waiting to pick his mrs up from work. It has double yellows down it so a traffic warden came down and told us we couldn't park there.
My mate came back with "Well what if I'm moving?" and proceeded to edge forward and reverse for the 2mins we had to wait :D As we were moving the only thing he could do was stand and watch to make sure we didn't "Park" and sure enough he watched us until we drove away.
