London

Its a perfectly legit comparison to make between a capital and other cities within the same nation.

You can compare London with a village in the UK or a small town too if you like - point I was making was that you wouldn't really be comparing like with like.
There aren't really other cities within the UK that come close to its size/status.

I really dislike London, it's just too... full, busy, whatever / however you want to describe it. It's also unbelievably expensive.

It depends where you go and what you are talking about.

Housing, yes - undoubtedly so, no argument there.

Everything else, no. You can find restaurants which are £200+ per head. You can also find Burger King. £200+ designer jeans from Mayfair and £5 jeans from Sainsbury's.

And, again, bits of London are busy, and bits are not - go to the square mile at 8am on a Monday and it's packed out. 8am on a Saturday and it's a graveyard.

I've never really understood the ignorance with regards to immigration in London... London has been a site of overwhelming immigration for hundreds upon hundreds of years. It's such a redundant argument...

Quite shocking to see this footage, I dont agree with BNP or what they stand for but you have to wonder what have we let in and WHY, no wonder London is called Londonistan

God know what is going to happen in the future as "these" people keep on coming and the ones here breed like wildfire

The sounds of that Mosque sends a shiver down my spine.

Used to drive down that road every day (Ealing Road) on my way to work, never any issues even on Friday prayers. TBH I've never heard the term 'Londonistan' used at all in all my time here.

That video just highlights the out of date and out of fashion views carried by biggots - one comment about someone's clothing saying they were in their pyjamas and seemed to be shocked by the fact there's immigrants there when Wembley and Harrow have been strongly predominant South Asian 'settlements' for a long long time. Also comments like 'it's not our country any more' really get on my nerves, it never was - Britain is full of mongrels from around the world, most of us can trace our ancestry back to immigrants and foreign settlers.

I think it's time to stop blaming immigrants for our broken society, for every Muslim extremist there's 1000 scummy white people on benefits, having never worked a day in their life wondering to tesco in their dressing gowns pushing their hateful spawn around.

Some people just don't 'get it' and never will because it's easier to push the blame to immigrants.

You sick, sick man. I would thoroughly enjoy personally attacking you right now.

There are children there, innocent British children, HOW DARE YOU BE SHOCKED JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE BROWN. You disgusting racist.

Do you expect any less from cheets? :D I honestly believe he's the type to cross the road or walk another way if he sees a group of 'coloured' people together.

Britain has one of the most multi-cultural histories out of any country in the world. We're still primarily a union of 4 countries, and had a huge colonial history until quite a recent date (We didn't hand hong kong back until very recently, historically speaking india wasn't that long ago either).
Britain is a melting pot of different cultures, and London has been on the boil a lot longer than the rest of the Kingdom. Arguing against multi-culturalism is decidedly un-British

Because the internet is affordable for those who couldn't afford it before so now they can post their complaints/views on lolImmigration for all to see without even lifting a chubby finger although some do make it out the door without a change of clothes as evidenced by the many videos on Youtube.

Something along those lines anyway!

I've lived and worked in London all my life (over 30 years) and I've had enough of the place now, not just a London thing but big cities in general. If you're young and like to party then it's great due to the abundance of venues, but as you get older you realise the size of a city adversely effects your quality of life. Big cities magnify the negatives of any city, as well as the positives and personally I don't need 100 different restaurants, clubs, bars, theatre's in my life. What I don't want is rush hour traffic/tubes, the lack of empathy (big reason) big cities (London in particular) create, pollution, rat race, stuuupid house prices leaving you in debt for a large portion of your life. I look forward to moving to a nice country community and slower pace of life, one that I'm not going to be paying through the nose quite so much to achieve.

Well the difference between past immigration and immigration today is the sheer numbers. People would have had to travel by boat in some cases on a journey that would see some people losing their life. Now they catch a plane or they arrive by train or bus. In fact I saw a bus load of immigrants arriving in london other day. Looked like I was back in south africa for a second. Just joking.
