Looking for ultra-gore gamess. (Any games with Soldier of Fortune-style damage modelling?)

11 years old now, but Severance - Blade of Darkness was mighty, if rock hard.

Wow thanks for the excellent responses guys :D Got me a nice phat list of goreness to get :D

I had heard about the new AvP but didnt know it was gory, will see if I can get it cheap someplace. Also watched some vids of SniperElite. Geez looks like MRI techs had a hand in that one!

..Although by far the most violent game is quite obviously; Mortal Kombat, the undisputed champion of gore! You can get it on PC, check Steam.

EDIT: No idea how I forgot Dead Rising! Definitely give that a look.

Fallout 1,2 and Tactics are more gory than pretty much anything else you'll see today, critical kills would blow people in half, leaving just a pair of legs and a ribcage, and on top of that you could murder children in an equally brutal fashion..

 I didnt know you could get it for PC on steam. Will get out the CC! Thanks for tellin me that! Lol @ ribcage..thats what Im talkin about :p

I can't speak for the others, but 3 is definately gory. In the words of Yahtzee: "Watching an enemy's body fall in one direction and their head fly in three others never gets old."

Lol...excellent

Ive also been living under a rock as I didnt now GOW was out on PC :( and Im gonna check out God of War as well. Im gonna check out all the games you lot mentioned.

Cant stand games where you blat away with a huge weapon or hack at something with a battle-axe...and nothing happens. The bad guy just falls down. This one annoying thing w/Skyrim (apart from the cut-scenes). I wish it had real-time decaps like Fallout 3! Feel kinda dumb when you get out the huge Nord Greatsword and the other guy just falls to the ground with no head or limbs missing!

How many of the games you all mentioned have *persistence*? (if thats the right term lol)

By that I mean...do the bodies stay around? Skyrim does this really well...even though its not gory a wolf you killed 2 months ago is still lying there in the game world. This is important i feel because it gives some sense of having DONE something. On the flipside Serious Sam is fun but you kill hundreds and nothing is left to show as the bodies (& the gore) vanish in seconds!!

Fallout 2 does, bodies rot away too if you come back several days later. If you enjoy the way Skyrim works, you'll love Fallout, especially the old ones because those are the granddaddy of the RPG genre, they defined how a lot of them work today.

Bethesda even said that Interplay did lot for the industry, and then they bought them out and screwed them over. Go go Bethesda! :D

bodies rot away too

Thats impressive, on Amazon now checkin stuff out! :D

On another note...even though gory games are fun the gore only goes so far...and i learnt this the hard way because I spent my money on that giant elephant-turd of a game called Soldier of Fortune:Payback

I don't think you will beat a nicely modded Fallout 3 for gore tbh

'once you pop, you just can't stop'
F3, Combat shotgun, Mercs head :D

Lol I do have the gore mod and what makes me laugh hysterically in F3 is when you cut loose with a Gatling gun and all thats left is what looks like a liver bouncing about :o

RELOOOOOOOAAAAAAD :D

Hey guys Im looking for some fun ultra-gore games :o
Okay!

Finished both the Dead Spaces & also Fallout 3. F3 was fun because you could make the bad guys go *BLISH* when you opened up with a big weapon :D
Yeah, all the other bits of the game were okay too I guess.

Are there any new games (2009 and after) that have Soldier of Fortune-style damage modelling? Like blow off an arm, head etc lol lol. Is any games company brave enough to do that again even!
Starting to sound a bit weird now.

Also really bummed that Mortal Kombat was not released on PC. Its got some really good ultragore complete with MRI-style image of internal damage :(

Okaaaaay this is starting to sound like a fetish.

Please list some gore-happy PC games thanks guys.

*backs away*

Have you got the Bloody mess perk in game? it's not a constant thing but just sometimes, it does live up to it's name :)

Haha yea I do - and when it activates its brilliant.

Im really bummed that Skyrim is so tame when it comes to the gore. All those nice weapons like battle exe, warhammers & swords. Would have been cool to slice up trolls into neat little cubes with a sword but it was not to be :(

Wonder why they went all-out on Fallout 3s gore but backed off on Skyrim.

Lol spoffle :p

Its fun though, see:

How do I get this Fallout 3 GORE mod? I've been all over Nexus and have several mods yet never even heard of this!

Katana, you can get the original Fallout games on Steam, they can go to 1080p unlike retail. Add me on Steam brother; Omaeka.

Infact, Fallout Collection (1,2 and Tactics) is on Steam right now for £7.99, reduced from £15.99. Get this! I cannot recommend anything on Steam as much as these, fantastic games, aged extremely well too (not graphically :p)

Have a look at Metal Gear Solid Rising, probably the best gore + swordplay going, hopefully technology like that will makes its way into The Elder Scrolls at some point! ;)

About the same as Doom 3, the game is kind of a Doom 3 clone with higher rez textures. :p
