I know near me there is so much broken glass on the pavement and it seriously annoys me; danger to pets, children and bike tires. Imagine a child falling in broken glass... Is there a lot near you? Do you agree more needs to be done about it?

I'm trying to keep my rant short, just irritated after pushing my bike 2 miles at night in the rain and it got me thinking.

It is a little disconcerting to see broken glass strewn about some places. Presumably it's where some poor sods car got broken into.

I normally find it's from broken WKD bottles or Buckfast bottles that kids have drank and smashed for a laugh after  smashing glass amuses some...

i have this problem and man it ****es me off. i was getting at least 5 punctures a week on my way to work and back

bloody polish that sit in underpasses drinking their 'wodka' and smash the bottles on the floor.

but yes kiddies tend to do it aswell as holding a bottle of stella in the street makes you look hard ... apparently .... im guessing smashing the bottle makes you a top boy?

There was a serious amount of glass up on one of the main roads the other day, I would have said two vehicle impact with the large amount of glass showered on the road but the way it had dispersed made it look like a window being panned out from a seemingly impossible position from the side of the road at some railings. Anyway, I crossed onto the other side not willing to drive across what others apparently had, guy behind me apparently not caring either.

Nails seem to get my tyres more than glass.

never seen any where I live tbh

well actually there was a broken bottle about a year ago dropped by the glass recycling folks but someone called the council and it was gone in about an hour

not sure why they couldn't have picked it up themselves rather than call the council though

Yeah. The problem with broken glass on UK streets is definitely due to Polish people.

Related question - do you often ride under underpasses? Have you considered going a different way, if they're full to bursting with Polish people smashing bottles?

A second related question - are you a little bit retarded? The kind of retarded where people don't notice at first, but when they have a conversation with you they realise part way through and make their excuses and leave?

Have you thought about ringing the council?

As a child I would visit my dear Nan on one of Peckhams nicest housing estates. We would quite happily play in some hellish concrete playground an inch deep in broken glass and I remember seeing the odd cat sized rat or two as well. Only got mugged at knife point for 20p once.. happy days.
