Hi Guys just installed my new rig from OCUK

i5 2500k
asrock z77 extreme 4
8 gig LP corsair
and fitted my ALC eco from previous rig with 2x 1450rpm gentle typhoons.

only just finished it, literally.

overclocked to 3.8 gig on all cores and left volts at auto 1.25/1.3 seems to flux.

full load temps using prime are 48/54 on various cores.

Now I know this is acceptable but is it about right for the cooler? I had a bit of a faf trying to get the cooler on and screw it down. Is all tight enough now just wanted to make sure and check if its worth re-seating the ALC Eco or not?

core0 48C
core1 51C
core2 52C
core3 48C
package 55

Worth reseating or that ok? Also is it worth locking volts at 1.24/1.25 or leave it to auto?

I have disabled speed step & turbo and updated to latest bios.

Cheers chaps :D

are those temps under load?

Edited it. Yes that is full load about 30 mins under prime.

Re. The overclock, I know its not a massive overclock but to be honest the I5 2500k pushes my gtx480 enough not overclocked!

My only other concern is that I didn't format win 7 and re install. I just removed the old AMD motherboard drivers and put in the new board.

All seems to be working fine though.

by jobe man, get it to at least 4.3 :P

Meh, you wont see any diff in performance between 3.8 & 4.0-4.3

I dont think my cpu will be the bottle neck now on my GTX480?

I might knock it up to 4gig :)

EDIT:-
Well I lowered the volts to 1.2 in the bios fixed, cpu-z shows 1.128 & hardware monitor shows 1.19V temps lowered to 48C on all cores full load @ 3.8.

I might push 4gig but this runs everything sweet atm so ill not bother for now :)
