Tempted by the Stalker and Thief packs despite already owning all of the boxed retail versions, would be cool to have them all on Steam, or am I just being overly pedantic?:D or whatever the word is.

So what are the main differnces between Rebellion and Trinity?
Ive never played a Sins of the Empire game... Am I better off starting with Trinity?

To put things simply:

Bastion is excellent gameplay and some of the best storytelling you'll ever see. Plus with all the 'shrines' you can make it insanely hard if you so desire. Well worth getting.

Thief pretty much defines 'stealth genre' and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone here who likes those type of games who doesn't love Thief. Deadly Shadows also the Shalebridge Cradle... one of the creepiest places you'll ever see.

Stalker are great games, if a little buggy sometimes and very open ended. Very raw feel to the combat. Complete mod or some similar overhaul are a must. You understand what its all about when you're wandering around the swamps in the dead of night, unable to see a damn thing that isn't lit by your flashlight, when a camouflaged Bloodletter appears out of nowhere, hits you and runs out of sight.

try as I may I have never managed to get into any of the stalker games

keep re-trying though as I feel theres a superb game there ready to be explored

just get frustrated in them early on

Keep pushing through mate, it's quite tough until you tool up a bit! Game really flourishes after 2-3hrs.

I love these kind of games, but looking at the graphics instantly puts me off. I know it shouldn't as gameplay should be > graphics but i just can't get past it.

I bought SW:KOTOR a sale or two ago and although it is an amazing story the graphics in the end annoy me and i stop playing.

This hapened with the OG Deus Ex, I tried to play it this year, only managed 4 hours, KOTOR was awesome when I played it but I couldn't play it now

Anyone that finds Stalker frustrating when they start out (and I sympathize), should try watching an experienced player on youtube. There are some great play throughs, like this one :

If you haven't bought Terraria in the previous sales, get it now.
It offers a good amount of stuff to do, and is generally a good laugh. I find it a far better thing to play than Minecraft!
