amd a6-3500 2.1 tri core i need help overclocking!!

ok i bought this pc from ****** its cheap comes with 8 gig ram...yet i still cannot play 1080p video that's all i want to do so can somebody help or im going to throw it back in ******s face... i have attempted to overclock as you can change the multipliers in the bios(lucky) so i did that and noticed the multipliers going everywhere.... i disable "quiet and cool" this helped a little.... doesnt stay where i want it to be......

does anyone know how to overclock this machine properly as i am a total noob at this... all i want to do is watch 1080p ffs!

do i need to up voltage or do a rain dance ???

I use the amd a6-3500 2.1 in my HTPC and it plays 1080p no problem but as for overclcoking i found it would hardly overclock so keep it @ stock now.

Any A6 should handle 1080p, even the A4's can cope. This is either a software issue or maybe a problem with whatever drive you're playing it from.

As for overclocking, unless it's a K model the multiplier is locked. You can goose the bus speed a couple of percent but nothing major.

right ok...i use vlc media player certain films work some stutter....
also i am running windows 32 bit is this a real problem though as i have heard it doesnt really matter?

It doesn't matter. Try the other software above, VLC sometimes causes problems for me... So I gave up and moved to Media Player Classic. After that I had no stutter problems at all. Although this was a few years back... haven't tried VLC now.

i must admit that other media player you suggested works a treat but still some issues... reinstalling a 64bit windows and all latest drivers i shall leave the cpu speed and see how it goes... gosh my galaxy s3 does better than this ha!
