hi,

I am after as cheap around the 100 to 150 mark which will get me good performance on my rig for gameing at 1900x1200 with as high settings as possible with the budget do not plan on adding second monitor as this Dell2407WFP is great for my needs.

Been looking at all the different graphics cards thats available its a mine feild which is best amd or nvidea these days what are the pros and cons of these thanks for any help

Londo

Could you stretch to around £200? If so the 7850 is a really good buy in that price range and it overclocks to stock 7950 levels of performance (AMD's second best card).

On the nVidia side you're looking at a 560 Ti in that price range. In the price range for AMD you're looking at a 6870 (really good value for money) or a 6950.

Like Rusty says, try and add a bit more and get the 7850. The Gigabyte WF 7850 is a tempting price at £200. NVIDIA have nothing except maybe the 570/80 that competes with it on stock and OC.

If you are in no hurry, I believe NVIDIA are due to release the 660TI soon which would give you a little more choice.

Guys is the msi twin fozer iii 7950 much quieter at stock than the other 7950 s on offer at the moment?
I know it is 270 rather than 240 but noise is a major concern for me at the moment.

Yes. It's quieter and cooler. Only issue* is that it vents into the case instead out of the back.
*If you don't have decent airflow.

i did was still downloading them when i posted time to dig my g27 i got last year out fits nicely on my desk :D

now all i need to do is replace my loud system fans i have & get the system i have a bit more quiet it sounds like a rocket at the moment but to be fair my system fans are at least 4 years old not had a desktop up & running for at least 4 years.

But this upgrade has but a smile on my face i can now put my gameing laptop away & just use it as a laptop.
