Ian Tomlinson unlawfully killed by Pc

I CBA to multiquote everything Robbo and Robbie G have said, but I agree with them :).

Sometimes I despair at this country. We've got a police officer who was clearing a riot area being done for manslaughter for simply pushing a man who was deliberately obstructing the police to tell him to GTFO. Yet in Yemen/Syria/Libya we've got unelected governments firing live rounds and cluster bombs at civilians. Seriously whiners, get a ****ing grip.

The push is the issue though.

Force can be used to move and clear people from an area or to accomplish a lawful objective but it should be proportionate, ie the minimum required.

Shoving him wasn't proportionate. Even if Mr Tomlinson got up and was ok, the force used exceeded what was required.

He should have had an arm taken by the officer or maybe two and walked away.

With the Olympics just about upon us you'd probably get shot.

That's probably a fair assessment. The government has now approved plans to raise the number of military personnel deployed to protect the Olympics to 19,000 – double the number of troops now fighting in Afghanistan. I can't help but feel that the Olympics is a huge drain on our resources especially given the fact that austerity measures are forced down our throats on a daily basis.

I sincerely hope he's kicked out of the police force though, the police want respect and yet harbour thugs like him in their ranks.

But then most normal individuals would steer clear of possible conflict, not go wandering around aimlessly in front of it.

If IT had a working brain then this wouldn't have happened.

HE tried several times and was turned back into the 'conflict zone' every time. Several pieces of CCTV footage show this.

Calling Mr Tomlinson an 'IT' jus shows how sub-human you are. I'm willing to bet that if he was a member of your family you'd be clammoring for Harwood to be hung.
