Ever since i built my new computer, when i log in, sometimes sound starts playing out, for example, one time it played out a Japanese or Chinese woman talking and as i'm typing this, this music is playing out, i haven't played it myself, when i do a virus scan, nothing shows up... and also no applications are open This is a common problem seeming as i cant talk to friends on skype with this playing through my headset, they also play through my speakers?

Help would be appreciated

It's the people who work inside you're computer. You obviously imported yours from China.

Some of them like to listen to music too.

On a more serious note I would check the startup programs to see if there's not something dodgy opening up on boot.

This happened to me a few years back. It sounded like a foreign radio station but it could have been foreign adverts. The sound would play for about 15 seconds or so then cut out. I put it down to malware but never did find anything. It just randomly stopped happening one day.

Which software have you been using to scan?

If you're using Windows then click on the volume control and go to the mixer and you'll see what's causing the sound to play. It might give you the name of the program causing it.

PC Speakers can pick up radio stations, its freaky when they do it.

One time I thought it was happening but I just had winamp playing radio at a low volume and I forgot about it.

Are you sure it's not your speakers? I had a set of Logitech X-530 speakers back when I was at uni, and quite often they'd pick up an odd foreign radio station late at night (due to atmospheric conditions I assume), which oddly got louder if I turned the volume down (even when not playing sound from the PC).

Funnily enough, I have a friend in Nottingham with the same speakers and he used to receive the same radio station through them too. :D

This happened with me as well, seems to be a regular problem with logitech pc speakers.

I think mine is in Russian or some eastern European language.

Another vote for picking up some weird AM station, if you tune a radio through the am spectrum you'll hear a lot of random languages and I have heard speakers putting out radio noise in the past.

This, completely. Old pair of unshielded speakers I had used to do it all the time when we lived at the top of a tall Victorian property. Freaked me right the hell out the first time I noticed it... couldn't tell where the voices were coming from!

i checked my volume mixer and it says 'name not available' but this is what keeps playing

So it is not random radio being picked up by your speakers then. You tried a anti-virus/malware scanner than has its own boot ISO?

There's viruses that play music?

What a pleasant virus to have, not like one of those threatening viruses that logs your credit card details.
